A company sells a product that everyone in the world must use or face death from a horrible disease. A guy invents a way to cure the disease once and for all. And, surprise! The company kills the guy and tries to hush up the existence of the cure.

Properly handled, this film could have been made with a sense of urgency and excitement and that would have been enough. Instead, everyone - including some good actors - tepidly walks through scene after scene until, mercifully, we get to the end. If the director could not get excited about making the film, the viewer cannot be blamed for finding it uninteresting.

Decent Actors Wasted

Though the story had a modicum of potential, the script was terrible, the direction abysmal. Ron Perlman gets a pass because he is consistently a good actor even without sensible direction and having to speak lousy dialog. At times it was hard to watch: dumb long stares, sunglasses off to make a point, awkward actions and reactions, and interludes like walking through jello followed by action scenes hard to tell apart. Two stars since I have seen worse, and Perlman somehow salvages his credentials in the middle of this mess.

Enjoyed It

Good guy Christopher Lambert against bad guy Ron Perlman. Throw in a really nasty Lou Diamond Phillips and you have all the makings of a great movie. Also, the fact it didn't have a load of foul language, gratuitous sex or special effects CGI made it a true winner in my book.

Not a bad Movie

This is definitely a B movie... Movie was sex, foul language,or gore.... good story..I just wasn't crazy about some of the actors....the three stars is based on that.. someone else might think they where great in their roles..I thought some of the main actors were weak...BUT it's a decent movie ...worth watching....I think it could have been better with different actors

Closed-captioned in English and quite good video quality.

The movie is closed-captioned in English. Both the video and audio quality are good enough to watch pleasurably even though it is in full frame version. I quite enjoy this drama, at least it contains the essential elements a drama should have. The DVD was carefully wrapped by a big bubble sheet to protect it from cracking. Happy purchase.

A story similar to what we face now with the virus
Verified purchase
The story is much like what we're facing now except this virus is a a plague known as "Neurological Degeneration Syndrome" (NDS)
It has killed five billion people

Take it for what it is

This is no summer blockbuster. It's a decent enough story, with some good actors. The premise of the movie is why I liked it. I'm a sucker for the "save the world from the virus" movies. It's worth watching.
