I purchased this wifi adapter as an upgrade to my desktop's built in adapter. My desktop's wifi adapter is outdated so my speeds were typically on the lower end and I could not access a 5ghz connection. I was also experiencing issues connecting at times as well as dropped signals. With this adapter, I'm now able to use 5ghz and not having any dropped signals. My modem and router are in a different room than my desktop (maybe 70-80 ft away). I can understand some interference due to walls, but not to the extent of what I was previously experiencing.
Installation of the adapter was simple. Just plug it into a usb port. If you're not connected to the internet during installation, you can use the CD that comes with the adapter. Otherwise, I believe you can just download the necessary drivers online. Overall, I am very pleased with this product and would recommend it.

To be honest, I bought this to use temporarily on an older computer connected to a wired network (I needed to set up new wireless printer), so my first concern was a low cost unit. But it works great and I've left it plugged in. Windows 10 picked it up right away and it was working as soon as I plugged it into an open USB slot.* Great signal strength and speed. I'm very satisfied and highly recommend.*This computer formerly had a similar adapter so it likely already had a compatible driver - they all use pretty much the same chip - you may or may not need to install drivers.
