For anyone curious here is the ingredients for homemade laundry soap:
1 Dr. Bonners bar of soap (shredded)
1-2 cups of borax
1-2 cups of washing soda
1/2-1 cup of baking soda
I started off at the small end of ingredients and added more until I found a ratio that works for me. I use distilled white vinegar as a fabric softer. I use 1/4 of a cup of soap for a regular sized load and about 1 cup of vinegar. My clothes are soft, smell fresh, and never like vinegar. I will never go back to conventional laundry detergents, for me this is the best way to keep my clothes clean.
And now that a major company no longer sells it it is ridiculously expensive and I hate that something so necessary is less accessible
