Since I have seen many complains about storage media not having the capacity stated by manufacturers, I need to explain the capacity disparity between storage media capacity stated by manufacturers and Windows OS.
Manufacturers of storage media measure capacity using a decimal system (1GB = 1000MB / 128GB =128,000MB).
Windows OS uses a binary system to measure disk space (1GB = 1024MB / 128GB = 117,000MB ).
That is the reason why your flash drive, disk or SD card might show less capacity than stated by manufacturers. In this instance manufacturers, and OSes such as MacOS and Linux, are using the correct measurement (prefix giga = 1000).
The Amazon Basic SD card work as good as other brand name rated at this speed.
It reached read speeds of 91 MB/s with sustained read speed of 86.4 MB/s while transferring 10.2 GB of data.
It hit a top write speed of 65.1 MB/s with a sustained write speed of 64.3 MB/s while copying 10.2 GB.
On a Mac it went as fast as 74.7 MB/s read and 64.5 MB/s write speed, since the USB reader controller could not go faster.
Many laptops SD slot and card readers might not be able to go above 480 MBit/s (60 MB/s) transfer... so faster SD cards might not be able to achieve their top speed.
The Amazon Basic SD card handles FHD videos @ at 60FPS smooth without skipping. It is fast, consistent, and works in anything that takes a microSDXC or SD card.
I tested the speed on:
Dell XPS 17
ASRock B550 with a USB C 3.1 card reader.
MacBook Pro 13

Even if one does not calculate in binary format, this drive is missing AT LEAST 5GB's if we consider 1,000,000,000 bytes = 1GB. As you can see the available capacity in bytes is 250,332,052,504 which is 250GB's, then when the computer calculates it in terms of binary we get 233GB's. That's ends up being 23GB's missing in total. Basically manipulation and abuse of technicities has meant data storage sellers sell an advertised 250GB SD card as 233GB's.. If this isn't false advertising from data storage manufacturers then nothing can be accused of false advertising. If someone comes along and begins to sell something "true GB" I believe they will dominate the market simply because it's a breath of honesty.
Ok so what about the advertised speed? 100 MB/s? Probably a lie too, but my readers seemed to cap at 90MB/s so I am not 100% certain if it's the reader or the card limited to 90MB/s but that's what I got. But this is actually better than SanDisk.
Before anyone thinks it may need a format, nope, I did that via command prompt too. Maybe it's broken? Or a bad batch. Maybe better reviews can be done instead of people taking a picture of a SD card shell and giving 5 star reviews. Especially on those SanDisks ones.
Now here is where I actually recommend this. If you're looking for the fastest 256 (233GB) SSD on the market, buy this. It's faster than SanDisk's 256 (238GB) SD card and cheaper. While the negative is as I mentioned above it's missing 5.349GB of data on top of the false advertising that storage manufactures/sellers do that reduces the 256GB to 238GB. Being the lowest price means this is possibly worth it for all the misleading specs.
I hope I helped.

The SD card was very easy to enter (near the bottom of the switch under the stand) and instantly I have so much more storage.
So I'd definitely recommend buying this if you are wanting to expand the storage for your switch.

Windows 10 "Properties" as Amazon Basics 1TB microSD card arrived.
Atto Disk Benchmark Speed Test of Amazon Basics 1TB microSD card thru Beiikell USB3 card reader.
. . . .in configuration : Max write 82.6 MB/sec Max read 93.4 MB/sec
H2testw Capacity Test and entire surface write/read analysis of the Amazon Basics 1TB microSD card .
. . . . those into detail might notice that not all the card was tested. In my excitement, I ran the Speed test . .. . .first; I save the results of each card on that card as the easiest way to keep track. So those files
. . . areas were not available to subsequently surface test. Silly me.
The Amazon Basics 1TB microSD card inserted into my SamsungS10+. showing:
. . . . 56MB of 0.91TB used!
As I headlined, 0.91 TB should be enough for now.
Two notes:
The Amazon Basics supplied adapter seemed unusually stiff to insert and seemed prone to errors on insert into the readers, so I swapped it for a MyMemory Adapter that came with my previous 512GB card.
I am sorry to see the price jump by sixty squids a few days after it arrived, because I am very happy with this Amazon Basics 1TB microSD card.
I made a lucky decision to purchase when I did.
