Great value for the price

So manilla folders... Not the most exciting or interesting purchase, but I'm trying to get a pile of statements and other boring paperwork filed away at home, and I needed a bunch of these. I'm used to ordering them at work, where we get a big business discount, so I wasn't at all thrilled to find out the actual price without discount. So of course I headed straight to Amazon to find a better deal. Fortunately, I found these in the AmazonBasics brand, which I've had great results with on other products. The price was much better than I could find anywhere else, and the quality is just the same. For some at-home filing, these are a great buy.

What’s the paper weight of these “folders”?!?!

Conflicting reviews, some said they were flimsy while others claimed they were made of heavy card stock. Unfortunately the reviewer who said they were flimsy was 100% accurate. These suck. If I wasn’t in a pinch and in desperate need of file folders for my job, I’d be returning these suckers. Boo, Amazon Basics, boo. :(

Two stars only because the colors are pretty. Only truly deserving of one star.

It's like they took the thinnest possible thickness for a folder that actually held up to light use and then squeezed it another 15%. They're just too thin. I know the thickness is listed, but I neglected to look at the ones I had for comparison. So if you're lazy like me and just looking for some cheap folders, look elsewhere, these aren't the folders you're looking for.

I've been reorganizing and replacing all the old folders in my husband's office with these that are so bright & colorful. He doesn't care whether they are colored folders or not, but they are beautiful. I read in at least one review that these are cheap flimsy folders. I must respectfully disagree. Are they the thickest folders I've ever used? No, but they don't tear or anything. I've used nearly the entire box of 100 and ordered a second box - I've yet to have one tear. I bought colored labels with a stripe that match (there's no orange - use white or yellow). I'm very pleased. I'm tempted to buy the colored hanging files. I love these & will buy again. Beautiful

Perfect for my recipe folders!

Sure, I use these for the usual home bookkeeping tasks, but I LOVE using them for my recipe folders. I own a lot of cookbooks, and have read hundreds more thanks to my public library, plus I subscribe in print to 4 cooking magazines. However, cookbooks or past issues of magazines can be inconvenient when I'm looking for something specific. So (since I love reading cookbooks from cover to cover), I photocopy all of the recipes of interest and then file them in one of my folders. I have dozens! For example, as shown in the photo, "Eggplant." When I think it's about to be eggplant season at the Farmers' Market, I'll look through the folder and pick some recipes I think will work with what else I'll likely find--and can then pick up all of the ingredients needed in one trip to town . I have folders for "Pastry Dough," for "Root Vegetables," "Vegetarian Mains," "Spring," "Biscuits," and, of course, "Hors d'oeuvres." Even "Cleaning," for those tips I'm always clipping out of magazines. As time goes on they get dog-eared, and I'm always splitting them, so I'm always needing new ones. For example, what used to be just "Pastry" is now 3 folders: "Pastry Dough" (includes puff and phyllo), "Pies and Tarts," and "Savory Pies and Tarts." I love having lots of colored folders to play with, and I love the way they look on my cookbook bookshelves. These were a HUGE value for me via Amazon Prime: about 10% of the cost of buying a handful of folders here in the middle of nowhere--and I didn't have to drive for 45 minutes to hit an office supply store!

LOOSE in the shipping box!

They come LOOSE. In the shipping box. There is no inside box/container like you'd usually set on your office shelf. Oh no. You would need to keep this brown shipping box on your shelf, & pull it down & reopen it every time you need a folder. And there's a stack of ones where the tab is on the left ... I suppose somewhere near the bottom there might be some with a left tab, or a center tab. Some are bent/folded. WILL NEVER BUY AGAIN!

I love organizing and color coding. I recently purchased these folders to clear out and reorganize my filing cabinets. The multiple colors really helped me to separate things so they are easy to find (i.e. green- financial, yellow-health, etc.). These were much more affordable than I have found in store. The material has a good weight, not too flimsy.

I purchased this because I switched from a file folder at work to a filing cabinet.
At work I have a lot of papers that I need to keep for records and references. These are basically the same as the filing folders that you get from the dollar store but you get a better deal when you purchase them online in bulk.
I did not have any issues when I opened the box. All the folders were still straight and not bent/folded. I did not count how many there are though so I cannot give you an exact amount that I received because I already used some and did not think about counting them.
I want to note that they are not thin or flimsy!
I would suggest purchasing them if you need them because it was a great deal for the amount of folders that you get. Thank you so much!
