As any AmazonBasics cable, this is just as described. Good quality, gold plated tips, and sturdy connectors. I like how you are able to choose your exact length. The only thing that could make this better is if you could choose between colors to help hide the cable.

Why I purchased it? I needed to connect my HP Printer. I had been using my printer wirelessly (HP Officejet 4500) but for some reason Windows 10 update has been giving me problems connecting to it from my desktop. I decided to purchase the cable which was very affordable and solved the problem. Somethings are better left alone, connect with a cable vs wifi for your printer.

If it says AmazonBasics, you can bet that they were thinking that Jeff Bezos would probably be a bit upset if they sold something with his company's name on it that was crap, and this pretty much does just that... the part that doesn't make him upset, because this is a very solid cable, that I am using for a dac on my new computer that had sub-par on-board sound, and I had this rather awesome Aune X1S that I was not utilizing to it's fullest potential, and all it took was this cable, that had to go a distance, to make my computer rock, out loud (literally), and in my headphones as well. It was cheaper than some of the weirdly overpriced cables that do the exact same thing... it is 1's and 0's people, doesn't matter if they have silver in the oxygen free copper, it is still only passing 1's and 0's... save your money, know it is going to work, buy this cable, relax, enjoy... whatever it is that you are going to use it for... (I tend to ramble)

I had an old LaserJet printer in my closet which I decided to give new life to. It boasted wireless connectivity but I have always had difficulty wireless using it with my computer, but the included cable was too short and I had lost it...

Any who, I decided to buy this one due to the added length and reliability of the AmazonBasics brand. I didn't need anything special and would well enough.

My one complaint would be how the AmazonBasics insignia has a glossy curve to it, which really shows off there subpar logo.

Overall, works great with any printer and would totally recommend to save some money.

I have been using this cable for 18 months. I've tried a few Amazon Basics products in the past and have always been impressed. I needed a longer USB cable for my vinyl cutter, so decided to try the 10' Amazon Basics brand. It arrived in 2 days coiled in a plastic bag, inside a smiley face box. When I went to plug it in the vinyl cutter, I noticed how much tighter the connection seemed compared to the shorter cable I was replacing. The same was true with my laptop. The connection seemed much more secure. The cable itself seems to be thicker than others in the same price range. The vinyl cutter I am using this cable with is very picky. Lower quality cables cause errors, and can cost a lot of money due to wasted material. With the Amazon Basics cable I've experienced zero errors. All in all, this cable has exceeded my expectations. I have since replaced multiple USB phone cables with Amazon Basics cables and have been impressed with all of them. Highly recommended.

My printer could not connect to my laptop for some reason and I misplaced my original cord. I went to Best Buy for the same kind of cord and the cheapest one I found was about $25. Of course I had to check Amazon and this one was cheap. It came in the mail within 2 days. It definitely is longer than what I needed but it was easy to hook my printer and laptop with. I didn't have any issues using it. l would recommend it to others and I would buy again for the price.

I recently got a new standing desk for work, so now that the computer tower wasn’t as easily accessible for flash drives, I needed to get an extender for the USB port. I was able to find this one on Amazon, which had the perfect length, for a fair price. I compared Staples and Amazon, but as usual, Amazon had a better price and faster shipping. When I received the package, the cord itself was in a sealed bag, which is appropriate for the product. It had a couple of twist ties to keep the product in a certain shape for packaging, which were fairly easy to remove. The set-up was a cinch and was able to easily plug it into my desktop tower with no issues. I have used it a couple of times now for my flash drive and it works perfectly.

I bought this for my Canon printer as the PC and printer are far enough that the old cable could not reach any more. Printers can be a little picky with USB cables, just like USB web cams, so I was a little worried about this cable. However, my worries were unfouded: as soon as the cable arrived (which was in record time), I plugged it in and the printer worked as if it was the old, original, shorter, Canon cable that I plugged in. Brilliant - a long, non-OEM cable that works just fine!
Highly recommended! (Can't attest to its longevity, but the cable seems thick and sturdy enough - I fully expect it to last many years with no trouble)

Best USB cables I've ever used as a DJ!

UPDATE: March 2020 and still going strong

I ordered these in October 2018 (now March 19) and I've used them a minimum of 3 times a week, every week since for work as a DJ. This means they've been unplugged and plugged in hundreds, if not thousands of times since I've had them and they are still going strong. As they're just a USB cable, it's hard to say much about them, however, I've looked after them quite well, coiled them properly after every use and there's no kinks, so the quality of the cable itself is really good. The only thing I've really done to them is remove the Amazon basics sticker as some djs are pretentious so it's stopped them judging I'm using 'cheap cables' even though they've lasted longer than some cables I know other DJs have paid over £30 for.

Can comfortably say these are the best USB A to B cables I've ever used and have lasted the longest having heavy use regularly.

You really cannot go wrong with Amazon Basics branded kit. It's a shopping mantra that's right up there with 'you can't really go wrong with Anker gear' as far as I'm concerned. Both offer the same quality merch as the more expensive alternatives but, as the 'more expensive' reference suggests, at a much lower price. I needed to hook a printer up by USB to do some testing, and this works a treat. Why pay more for exactly the same thing? Some of the cable pricing out there is truly outrageous. Of course, I don't recommend going for the absolute cheapest option without regard for quality and safety, but these Amazon Basics cables tick both those checkboxes so it's all gravy...

Since Amazon started doing these "basics" products, I've tended to choose them when I need stuff and they are priced competetively compared to other options. Generally speaking they've all been really solid products at a good price. This for example is a printer lead. Nothing special, but not £20. It's well made, was packaged sensitively for the environment (as in it could all be recycled) and arrived the next day. It works a treat, and delivers just what we needed....what more could you want?
