I was quite happy with normal mice but I heard so much about these I had to give one a go. My styloid process is jammed on my table and I have to press in on the mouse with my thumb and fingers to push buttons.
There's also no quick movements from the keyboard to the mouse anymore since you have to grip it instead of just shove your hand onto it, and it's tall so half the time I smack it right off my desk.
However, those are ergonomic mouse gripes common with all of them.
If you know you want an ergonomic mouse, this is good! If you aren't sure, and your mouse doesn't hurt your wrist, then you don't need one.
This one is on the larger size of small, but it works well for me. It wouldn't be good for children, but seems good for the average sized female hand. The placement of the forward/back buttons on the side is better than the previous off-brand mouse I was using, it's lightweight, and has a great little slot near the battery for storing the USB dongle. So far happy with it. It doesn't have silent clicks, but they're not disruptive either if you work near other people.
Update: I'm dropping this down to 1-star. the sensor is just really terrible. Barely works. It's just a shame because everything else is great. But having a bad sensor just makes the mouse extremely frustrating to use.
Update 2: I'm increasing the rating back to 3. I changed the batteries in the mouse and it works a lot better now. I've never had a mouse whose performance degraded with battery life, it's normally pretty binary.
1) reception: The USB dongle is plugged in about 1.5 feet from the mouse, within direct eyesight. It very often lags, skips, or just turns off the tracking lights. ??
2) tracking: doesn't track well on any surface I've found. I've taped red paper to my desk and that seems to work the best, better than fabrics, the countertop. I have another optical mouse (wired) that tracks perfectly on my desk surface, and paper, and fabric, so when compared, this mouse performs terribly.
So I have to buy another mouse—not an Amazon brand one. Hard to imagine this is the same co that made some absolutely incredible, durable, thoughtful products like the Kindles. What's the deal?
I’m going back to my trusty Logitech traditional mouse.
Then it works and then it doesn't work. Im done and frustrates.Im paying more money and going to bestbuy to get a real one.

When it came to renewing the one i had I saw the Amazon Basic version of the vertical mouse, and presuming that all basic products are decent quality, I bought this a few weeks ago.
Usage feedback: good and responsive, however, I found the outer material of this mouse to be very plastic(ky) which means that it slips out of my hands when i lift and move it during use, which i have not experienced with the one i have been using, hence will not rate this product high.. however for the money spent, I will definitely recommend this design over conventional ones...

All the buttons are easy to press and the scroll wheel glides easily with soft bumps as you move the wheel.
The mouse is easy to hold or rest your hand on, but it has a very smooth surface so your hand slides off very easily. I've found it quite difficult to pick the mouse up (when I've got to the edge of the desk etc) with one hand as it just slips out and falls. The design is such that you cant even tip it into your palm to pick it up because of the way it's balanced - there is just no way to grip the mouse to pick it up. If you try, you'll end up pressing most of the buttons and the mouse will slip so the scroll wheel will move your page as well. Having said that, it glides easily so using it is ok as long as you have plenty of desk space around it before you get to the edge of your screen.

As a professionally trained Advanced DSE assessor I knew what I needed for my home desk. This product seemed to be the answer a very attractive price. Based on size, design, placement and overall use, I have found it does the job and does it well. It does not feel cheap or fragile, and I have found the clicking accurate and concise. The movement has not been lost in the wireless connection.
My only criticism is that top of the mouse could be slightly more rounded to prevent a pointed angle. It is not major and does not affect the use of the mouse, comfort etc.
