I have ordered Angostura bitters from Amazon a few times. I have tried other brands but they're not the same quality. I like Angostura the best. I didn't have any issues with previous orders. When I opened the package from my most recent order I knew immediately something was wrong. Part of the packaging was stained brown. As I pulled the bottle out I noticed it was soaking wet. The label was peeling off. Half the bottle was empty. The bubble wrap only covered the base of the bottle, not the top. I examined the bottle and determined it wasn't broken. The leak came from the cap being loose. I don't think the leak would have happened if the bottle was fully wrapped/covered. I normally would have given this product a 5 star review. Due to the fact that I paid $30 for half of a bottle of open bitters, my rating is based more on my experience than it is with the product.

So happy to find this larger-sized bottle of Angostura bitters - we were unable to find it in our local stores. The larger bottle saves a bit of money versus buying many smaller bottles.
If you don't use a lot of Ang bitters and end up with this big bottle - I recommend you trying the Trinidad Sour - there are a few recipes around, but the main ingredient should be the Angostura bitters.
Try this one:
1.5 oz Angostura bitters
1 oz Orgeat (also available on Amazon)
0.75 oz lemon juice
0.5 oz rye whiskey (or any whiskey you have on hand)
You'll be amazed at how great Angostura bitters are when they are the star player!
