Pretty major disappointment. Nothing makes me more mad when I waste money unknowingly, and this is a case of that. So I would recommend getting a different brand. I actually bought an off brand when I bought this one and it still works fine, yet this one broke. Bad product.
*****update— when i left this review an Anker representative contacted me the next day. They shipped me a new one and stated the other was likely a defect that was missed. I have been using the new one for a few days and it works great, no problems so far. Very satisfied with the customer service i provided. Amazon has started to slack in customer service to to receive even better service from a third party is really refreshing.

UPDATE: Once the company saw my review, they sent an e-mail to accept a free replacement of a slightly different model. This free model was almost 3X the price of the one I origionally bought. This company is serious about customer satisfaction! My origional product was past it's time to be returned, so they did not have to do anything for me. Once I confirmed I wanted the differnt charger, I had it within a couple days! Who knew you could still find customer service like this! Would certainly recommend this company because you just can't go wrong when someone stands behind their products like this! Thank you!
With the phone dead, I set a timer, and plugged it into this Anker Elite Dual Port 24W charger using the lightning cable that comes with the iphone.
This charger charges the phone pretty quickly!
I turned the phone on at the 1 minute mark. With all apps closed, only turning on the screen every 5 minutes to check charge percentage, I ran the test for 45 minutes. Results are as follows
Note that these results are for the iPhone 8, not the 8 plus.
5 minutes - 13%
10 minutes - 21%
15 minutes - 32%
20 minutes - 40%
25 minutes - 49%
30 minutes - 56%
35 minutes - 62%
40 minutes - 68%
45 minutes - 73%
Your results may vary, but this should give you an idea of reasonable expectations.
I will also say that this is probably the nicest packaged charger that I’ve ever had, whatever that’s worth. It is a bit on the large side, and it is quite hefty as well. The build is very solid
I hope this was helpful to other perspective buyers!
Now, one of the first things I noticed about this is that it’s a bit bigger than previous generations of the PowerPort 1 or 2. However, the plug is placed higher up on the body than before, so that means more space to plug something else into the outlet above. Another nice upgrade is that the folding plug is much easier to pull down than the old one — a much needed improvement.
Additionally, there was a design change to switch from a glossy finish to a matte finish. This way, it won’t scratch as easily, and personally, it just looks better.
How about the actual functions of the wall plug? Well, the standout feature is Anker’s Power IQ and VoltageBoost. These technologies detect how much current is needed by the devices (aka an iPad needing more than an iPhone), and then deliver that needed power to the device. The technology is quite a bit more complicated than that, but the basic idea is that your device charges at its fastest possible speed. Except, however, for QuickCharge devices — the PowerPort 2 Elite doesn’t support Qualcomm’s QuickCharge.
Aside from that, there’s not too much to say about this wall plug. It charges up to two devices, at their fastest possible speeds. The build quality is excellent, and the heavier than normal weight adds to that. At the $13 price tag, it’s a pretty decent price too! If you’re looking for a great travel charger for your devices, then this is a good one to get.

I checked the other, identical Anker charger in both outlets - no spark.
A week or so later the SECOND charger started sparking! I have an original Apple charger, one I've owned for years, and it does not visibly spark when I plus it in. I threw out the Anker chargers and am just using the original Apple charger now.

"...I feel sorry to hear that the Anker Elite 2-Port 24W USB Wall Charger PowerPort 2 didn't work well for you. Sincerely apologize for the inconvenience it has caused to you. Rest assured that we at Anker always stand behind our products. If possible, could we trouble you to give us an opportunity to make things right for you? A kind reminder that this Elite PowerPort 2 was designed with the steady blue LED, it is rather different than the previous one. In this case, how about sending you the previous version (a green/blue light on it) for you right away as our sincere way to say sorry?..."
Its difficult for me to rate this as, I know this product was designed with the steady blue light. It is a superior product in itself. I was just disappointed that a feature I really liked was not incorporated in this generation. I assumed it was. My bad. As a background, I had a Samsung Table with a bad charging port (this is so common). With the previous Anker model, I was able to see across the room if the tablet was charging properly. Every time, I charged this tablet, I cursed Samsung and praised Anker for the green light feature which told me the tablet was taking a charge lol. It made a lasting impression.
Folks, I believe Anker makes unmatched products when it comes to quality. Look at other comments from people in their product line that they carry elsewhere. You can purchase other chargers that cost the same or half the price that will deliver the same output seemingly but I trust Anker the most when it comes to fire safety (I've had a cheap knockoff burn). I also believe with the extra circuitry that Anker chargers are more careful in charging what is connected to it. Cheers Anker.
*** My original post below...................
My comments are only for Anker.
I bought this item because the previous two chargers I got from Anker (looks almost identical) had a green/blue light on it.
The light was blue when it was plugged into the wall. If something drew power from the charger, it turned green. I loved this feature so much, I wanted to purchase more of them.
To my surprise, this unit just has a dummy blue light to indicate that it is plugged into the wall. :(
For this reason, 3 stars are removed

In my opinion, if someone to charge the Anker Powercore 26800 with dual mirco usb port faster, I suggest use Anker 60W or 40W wall charger. with Quick Charge 3.0. This might give faster rate of charge compare with 24W.

Overall, the Anker PowerPort2 Elite has a slightly bigger case compared to the “non-elite”. It also had some design changes over the front. I am not sure if I like it or the Apple-like design of the “normal” Power Port elite. The omission of the grey at the front of the charger is welcome though.
The charger is solid, the prong are foldable as usual.
As mentioned earlier, the Elite model is bigger compared to the “non-elite” and almost as big as the Power Port 4. The LED is always blue which is strange as the “non-elite” model had two colors for charging/non-charging. The charger worked well on all my tests. The voltage for is around 5.2V (which compensates for the power loss of the charging cables). The ipad, iPhone and Samsung tables can draw 5.2Vx2.1A out of the charger without any problems. The charger is just warm during the charging process.
Overall I like the charger, and can recommend this to anyone. The price were also reasonable, at the time of the review it was 16.99$ (down from 20$),.
PRO:
+ Upgraded version of a well-known charger.
+ New matte, solid design and upgraded protections
+ Work well with many devices
CON:
- Bigger compared to the non-elite versions, without significant function added.
- Status LED has only one color.

To charge 2 phones with same charger, also great.
Quality of built, is also great.
No issues whatsoever.
Make sure the product is right for you as it won't do quick-charge or fast-charge for android phones. For that you will need their newer charger.
Overall this is a great charger.
