My healthy herb garden

They are growing beautifully! The cilantro takes the longest to appear. I use filtered, fluoride free water in a spray bottle (it came with my mushroom kit from Back to the Roots). I spritz the leaves and stems several times a day, they seem happy. There is an LED light over them because of the north window, it seems to give off enough daylight for growth. Also the sprouts from the basil and mint were separated into pudding cups, as shown in photo, to allow more room. Several seeds were in each labeled packet for later use and the instructions were clear. Highly recommended!

Did not grow, sprouted mushrooms, disappointing

My basil and mint plants never grew, I made sure they were in a sunny (but not full sun all day) spot and watered but not over watered. I emailed a woman who promptly said they would send me new seeds. I never received them, it’s been about a month. In the meantime, my cilantro grew but after about a week or so mushrooms began to sprout. I googled this and it said it’s most likely a soil issue. Very disappointing

I like every thing so far. I don’t have a porch. But I do have an enclosed porch. I’m so glad the driver put it inside the screen door as it asks on my front door. It was pouring raining today. A lot of delivery drivers leaves my packages outside on the stairs and I never know it’s out there.
The package was intact but it could take a piece of tape on the bottom flap. When I picked it up the weight of the cans were ready to tumble out. But all is well. I can’t wait to plant my first indoor garden.

We bought this with ebt. Since the kids are out school and get free lunch they gave ebt to help feed the kids. They kids wanted to try it. So it was great for them to learn to grow their own food. But it is basically 3 cans of dirt 3 small packages of seeds and instructions. The mint took the longest to sprout. Overall it was entertainment for the children.

First of, the packaging definitely did take a hit during shipping. I think this is expected for such a product. Anyway, guess what. It did grow for me. Still a baby now. Took about more than 2 weeks for it. So i think if you are expecting something to be fast maybe wait a little longer to see if it works before discarding it. Just got to keep in low light area and cool. Imagine forest and mushrooms.

I am not the best with plants and gardening, but this kit looked easy enough and made me think even I can handle it. It was super easy to set up and I think this would be a fun project for all ages. Kids would really have fun and it’s a good introduction to your own little garden space. Now I just wait for fresh herbs! It’s only been a week but there’s recently been sprouts appearing. I can’t wait to enjoy the finished product.

I have an 8 and a 5 year old and this could not have been a better purchase to simply, explain nature to my kids.
They may not make their beds, but they make sure the 3 "cans of wonder" are watered everyday. And this morning, as you can see from the pictures, we got life. little green stems coming out that made everyone shout out loud.

This product arrived a lot faster than I was expecting it to! I was a little surprised that everything arrived intact especially because I had ordered glass jars and I expected them to break. I haven’t planted anything yet but it seems pretty straightforward. This would be a really great gift kids or maybe a gift for a coworker. It’s a fun little activity and it’s always exciting to watch plants grow.

Overall the set up is super easy, and there was barely any mess. I like that it came with a little cookbook with some ideas on how to use the herbs too.

After seeing mixed reviews on here, I decided to put the soil and seeds in new pots that have a drain on the bottom. The seeds have germinated nicely and I’m excited to have these little plants growing in the kitchen! I will say less is more with seedlings so don’t overdo it and you will have no problem growing these herbs!

UPDATE: my mint seeds were actually lemon balm. But plants are thriving.
