1.0 out of 5 stars DANGEROUS FOR CHICKENS.
Reviewed in the United States on August 21, 2020
Do not buy this tractor unless you are willing to make immediate alterations for the safety of your chickens. I bought this to house my three French bantams who weren't getting along with my other chickens. It's a great size for them and very cute.

The UV 'screen' that comes on this tractor is nothing more than a cheap, thin. almost foamy plastic that is slipped into the braces of the top of the small yard. It came already in the frame and felt like a more secure, hard plastic. I had no reason to not think it was securely in the frame.

I finished putting it together about midday and put my chickens in it with all their stuff right in the backyard. We're in southeast Kansas on thirty acres, but it's mostly pasture. They were out there for about three hours, seemed pretty happy. I go to yoga class at 5, I'm gone for about an hour. When I get back, the UV screen was pushed into the tractor, because it's apparently as FLIMSY as PAPER, and one bantam was missing with the other two huddle in the house, panting. And there were muddy paw prints on the screen, maybe a weasel, possum, or fox. Something had been able to get in and take one of my babies within hours of setting it up.

This could have been EASILY avoided if the design hadn't been so flawed. If they had simple put wire over the top along with the UV screen, nothing could have gotten in to my chickens. And I think eventually I would have realized that the screen wasn't so safe and stapled wire to it myself, but this product failed literally a few hours after I set it up. I guess I should feel lucky that whatever it was just took one of my chickens and didn't hurt the others. It must have been something small. Really, after seeing how flimsily attached the screen was, ANYTHING could have gotten in. It pops right out.

Also, there is no door on the chicken house. That means that anything that could get into the yard could get into the house. This is bad for the nighttime. I did realize this when I put it together, but I planned to put a door on it myself eventually.

I'm going to try to fix this tractor and use it but what a terrible price to pay. The design needs to be fixed and if you do get this, make adjustments so you don't lose a chicken like I did.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good for the price.
Reviewed in the United States on September 26, 2020
I read so many reviews of so many coops and they are all basically not that great unless you are wiling to spend close to 1k or more. I decided to go with this one. I did not attach the run part because the winds could blow this thing over and an ambitious racoon and his buddies could easily turn it over. I decided to reuse a dog kennel as the yard for security. I plan to add mesh wire to Make it more secure as well. I have just little chicks coming so I can hang a heat lamp in there when they are stinky enough to go outside and live on my deck until spring. I have raised many chickens. The house can easily fit 4 full sized hens. The hens only spend time in the coop to lay eggs and to sleep. They prefer to be huddled together for warmth and safety so the tight fit I think is a good thing. I agree with other reviews that this would not hold up in constant bad weather but It's a $200 product so what do you expect? I do think it is worth $200. It would cost close to that to build your own. It was very easy to put together with my drill but you could do it with a screw driver and some muscle if you have to. I did screw down the floor of the nesting box for stuffiness. Easy.

Was extremely easy to put together. I knew it was going to be small so wasn't surprised when it was all together as to how small it was, were putting it inside a fenced area so it works for what we need it for. Seems like it will hold up to the elements outside.

3.0 out of 5 stars Its alright in a pinch if you twerk the roof
Reviewed in the United States on April 14, 2021
First I want to let you all know I read reviews before purchasing this coop. So I knew what I was getting into. It's not bad for the price if your handy like I am. First it is simple to put together. One thing you will have to put hardware wire beneither the sun roof. No ifs ands or butts. You will have to. Its flimsy and the slightest pressure pops it out. Easy fix is tun that sun roof upside down on the floor before installing it. Then lay your hardware wire out over it and stable it down all the way around. Trim the wire fencing and then install the roof as normal. There is no door between the coop and the run. It is however possible to rig one up rather easily if you wanted to. The coop is light weight ill be installing it on 2x4s later on for a chick house. I do feel it needs a protectant finish. Be it paint or Thompson water seal. The floor tray is flimsy I feel it won't last but a few days. I will be installing a piece of plywood there instead. The nesting box floor is not screwed in. You should drill lead holes and go ahead and screw it down. Yes lead holes are nessisarry. Or the wood will crack. First screw I did on the nesting box floor split the wood. Hence why I used drilled lead holes on the rest. The wood is very thin. The nesting boxes are smaller then most. It will not be warm in the winter. Not on its own at least. It is a little cramped for my 4 girls. Though they free range durring the day anyhow. This was bought to temporarily house them while I build a new large coop. Then ill use it for chicks later after a tad more upgrades to it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Surprisingly Good Value
Reviewed in the United States on April 7, 2021
It was super easy to assemble. It’s perfect for our needs. We have 3 hens in there now and will probably put 1 more in. The sun shield is easily knocked out if they get scared and bump their heads on it, so I just took three 1 x 4s I had laying around and screwed them on over it so that it’s secure. I anchored it to the ground with a dog leash anchor on both sides to keep critters out and to keep the wind from moving it at all. Overall very pleased with the value and quality.
