Puffy pancakes, yaaaay!

This ain't your mother's baking powder! This is my second purchase of this, and you will have fluffier baked goods and pancakes than you can imagine! When you mix your pancake batter, you may want to start with a little more liquid. Also, resist the temptation to stir your batter more once it is blended together. Oh...and use a larger bowl than you used to, this batter poofs up big time. I swear, our pancakes come out about an inch thick and taste fantastic. I am not supposed to eat pancakes any more, but....

It's also great in biscuits.

I purchased Bob's Red Mill Baking Powder because it is gluten free, has no aluminum and is a double action baking powder. I bake gluten free, which can be challenging at best, but this baking powder has proved to be the best I have used. It provides an excellent rise and my baked goods retain a fresh taste. There is no sour after-taste, which is often present when using aluminum based baking powders. I recommend Bob's Red Mill Baking Powder for all baking purposes.

I was awestruck when I found out how much aluminum is in regular store bought baking powder. I immediately tossed it and bought this as a replacement. It works just as well if not better than the toxic Aluminum Sulfate based powders that are sold in grocery stores. I use it in banana bread and I can't tell the difference. I'm not sure why they even still make the toxic stuff.

Received a damaged bag that was placed in a clear bag to catch the spilling contents. When I filled out the information for replacement all I could get was it was non-returnable. Obviously the contents are compromised and not usable. Seriously, who ships open food items!

iIbought this after reading America's Test Kitchen reviews of baking powder. It came in #2 due to the packaging, but I put my in a can I kept on hand so that does not bother me. The cornstarch is from non-GMO corn, unlike the #1 pick Argo, which is from GMO corn. I love this baking powder. Things bake up so tall and taste great. I highly recommend it.

Works great for my scones. But, the packaging is weird. There is a printed best of date of March 2022, but there is also a sticker at the bottom of the package with an expire date of Jan 2022. Not exactly why. Either way, this will be used up before then, with my weekly bake. As mentioned tested it on my scones and results is very good. Not sure about Biscuits yet.. A little pricy (compared to Bakewell), but given the times, I guess it is better than nothing...

This baking powder does not include aluminum. I never knew some baking powders used aluminum. How many years have I been putting metal into my baked goods? Yikes!! That doesn't sit well with me.

I've lately become aware of the way our food is being grown and processed in the US. The use of genetically modified or genetically engineered wheat, corn, soy, canola, etc. is frightening!! My friend, Patt, calls it "Franken Food". Our gov't does not require manufacturers to label ingredients that are sourced GMO or GE (European and Asian gov'ts require it). Consumers need to be self advocates for their own health and the health of their families. That's why I love Amazon.com and Bob's Red Mill. The prices are competitive and the variety is endless. Thanks for providing options for families!
