Excellent docu-series, hooked after one episode
As someone who has watched plenty of soccer related documentaries and series in the past, this has to be one of the best I have ever seen. It is a raw, uncensored look at one of the biggest and most successful clubs in the world and how they seek to improve upon the failures of recent seasons. It also gives the viewer especially ones that aren't as familiar with either Chivas or Mexican soccer in general, tremendous insight into the many reasons why Chivas are important and unique in Mexican soccer. I really liked how the series took a look at the players lives in a way that was in depth but also respected their dignity & privacy, something that the modern sports media does not do a good job of doing in my view. One thing I would recommend to viewers who are not fluent in Spanish is to watch each episode with the subtitles on to fully understand what is being said although the way this series is presented makes it easy to follow along visually. This is because the emotions of the players, coaches, sporting director, owner and the fans are captured in their truest form. Overall an excellent series and I can't wait for season 2.

The highs and lows of a sports team…4 ½ stars
CHIVAS: El Rebaño Sagrado is a good documentary. Recommend if you’re a sports fan or looking for a documentary to watch. It kept my interest throughout even though soccer isn’t my typical watch. 4 ½ stars.

The cameras follow the team throughout the film and some of subjects covered are; training, games, family/personal lives, agents, on the road, coaches, injuries, recruiting the players at a young age and how they handle it, media coverage (good and bad), competition between players on their own team, teamwork, the drug scandals, how the pandemic affected the team, the pressure on everyone involved, fans, and owners (son takes over when father passes away).

Parental guidance/trigger warnings: some swearing (most is in the first episode), death of team’s owner, drugs (doping, cocaine), fighting (on the field by players and in the stands by fans).

I could stand for another season of this
I don't usually watch sports, I used to watch football until it became a political thing. This story takes you inside and lets you see the heart of these players, and it's better than most of the other stuff at your fingertips. Their focus on this game is what everyone should be doing in their lives. You get one shot. These guys are as hard working a crew as you could ask for anywhere. It would be you that needs to meet the standard. I hope they bring this back.

The language disconnect is distracting
The language disconnect is too distracting and makes it hard to get the hype of it all.

Excellent docu-series - Would love to see more seasons with this team
I'm NOT a soccer fan per se but I am a sports fan. I find it fascinating seeing what it takes for players to reach their ultimate goal. Which is playing professionally in a big organization and maintaining their position. The struggle to achieve that elusive dream of winning a championship is the heart of these shows. Now that I'm hooked on the Chivas journey I want to follow up with more seasons. Hope there's more to come.

Muy buena serie par aver el lado humano del equipo
Aunque no se gano nada en estos torneos la serie esta muy bien hecha. Muestra el lado humano y el esfuerzo de todos en el equipo por salir adelante. Buena serie para identificarse con el equipo.

Compelling Documentary
This documentary unlocked a trove of memories from my youth. Having studied abroad in Guadalajara for a semester (6 months), I distinctly remember the rivalry between Chivas and Atlas. The pride for both teams was evident everywhere. Not knowing much about 'futbol', I became a Chivas fan as did my cohorts. My school, La Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara, was nearly exclusively Chivas territory. Thank you for this series!
