WOW- Beautiful Pattern and Heavy, Quality Melamine

I have been shopping larger melamine serveware for a while- I compared several patterns and went with Talavera by Certified International. I'm so glad I did- these are QUALITY pieces, definitely much heavier than the typical melamine I grew up with, which is much lighter and thinner. The pattern is BEAUTIFUL and I have these on display on the cupboard shelves in my kitchen- they've given the whole kitchen a facelift! The colors are bright, vivid and the lines are perfect (NO smudges or "holes" or unaligned places). I looked at several patterns that I liked but it's scary to see a beautiful picture of the item online then read tons of reviews that describe the colors as dull and unappealing. This is definitely NOT the case with these- I'd say the dishes are even MORE awesome in person than the pictures online. I also think I made the right choice going with melamine- I know it isn't for everyone, but we recently retired and downsized into a much smaller home in the Texas hill country. I decorated my entire house informally with pieces I really like- a mix of stuff I inherited, country/antique items and items made in Mexico with that type of distinctive pattern/art. This Talavera pattern looks like something I could have picked up in Mexico, and it's perfect without going overboard. These melamine dishes aren't super heavy or breakable or formal like actual china, but they are durable, gorgeous, and I will actually use them to serve on. I could not be happier with my purchase- these are beautiful pieces I'll have forever that I'm also proud to display! Can't beat the beauty, quality, or price. Highly recommend- A++++++++++

High quality melamine with finish and texture made to look like porcelain. I got the dishes set and serving plates set for our outdoor dining. Absolutely impressed with the quality, colors, designs and finish. Not too folkloric not too artificial. I inspected every plate and they came in mint condition and good packaging. One surprising delighter was the subtle ondulations on the surface for a realistic (not flat plastic) look (see the picture showing the texture). As with any melanine, do not use steak knives or they’ll scratch. As with any melanine, the material is not for microwaving. Can’t wait to try these elegant and fun dishes. Great eco friendly and elevated alternative to disposable dishes. I’ll buy second dish set to entertain larger crowd.
(I had read another review saying that dishes didn’t match the serving dishes color but that’s not true for me. The sets are identical in quality, style, colors, texture, etc. )
