Pairing Automatically (If automatically pair failed, pls pair it manually via "Fire TV" app or original fire stick remote):

1. Restart the Fire Stick, once fire stick is on main menu wait for 1 minute;

2. Hold Home button until red light flashing quickly. Now your smart remote is in pairing mode;

3. When the red light turns off, the pairing succeeds.

How to pair manually by Fire TV APP:

1. Download the "Fire TV" APP;

2. Log in the same account as your Fire Stick, and then connect with your Fire Stick, now you can control your fire TV by mobile;

3. Go to Fire TV Setting, and choose Controllers Devices;

4. Go to Amazon Fire TV Remotes and Add New Remote;

We couldn't get it to connect to our sound bar, nor does it control the TV sound and we route that through the soundbar anyway. Pros: No Alexa!
Cons: Pretty much everything else.

Had hopes for this. Really wanted a no-frills remote without app/content provider buttons or Alexa. Have a Toshiba 32LF221U19 FireTV from 2018. With only 4GB of storage it seriously lags with more than one profile. Ordered a FireTV stick to plug into the TV and have more storage/profiles (kids) available. Guess what?The new remote has Alexa with no way to disable it. Ordered this remote. Got it paired with the Fire stick and got the IR power button paired with the TV. Wasn’t able to get the audio buttons to work no matter what (HDMI CEC enabled on TV and stick, etc). Also the navigation buttons were hit or miss—sometimes they register on the first click, often you have to push again.
