We plugged in the thumb drive for save our favorite TV shows, so we can watch it later. The only thing is, you have to put the Amplifier high enough to receive the best signal.

I recently "cut the cord" on my cable service. I'm fortunate in that I have great over the air reception where I live - almost 100 channels. All the major network channels are in HD. The only things I felt I missed was the ability to record programs to watch later - at my convenience - and the ability to fast forward through commercials. This completely solved those problems. I use an inexpensive 32 GB Flash Drive for recording and it works perfectly. Be aware that 32 GB is the largest size flash drive you can use - but it holds a lot and I typically ease programs after watching. Love that I'm saving all of that "cable" money each month! It has paid for itself many times over. I would certainly recommend it!

I need an option to pay someone to install this box. It replaces one I've had for years, but I can't get it to work. How do I find someone to hire to install this item. Can you recommend one that's easier to install. Otherwise it's of absolutely no use to me. I tried to drop it in where the old box was working with my Samsung tv. My neighbor can do about anything, but she gave up after wasting nearly an hour trying to figure out how to get this to work.
Suggestions about how I can hire someone to install this , please!

This is the second converter/recorder I've tried (an EXuby M/N EXB DCB1668 was the first and was returned for refund after one month). It is by far the better of the two. I live 20 miles west of Chicago (Villa Park) and am an AT&T customer. The unit comes with an antenna, converter/recorder, remote and user manual.
The user manual is excellent. It's fairly comprehensive, has color photos and diagrams, and is written in plain English (not Engrish). The onscreen menus might take a little getting use to, but are also easy to use and understand.
I like the remote. You don't need a vise-like grip to depress the buttons AND you don't have to point it directly at the converter box. The buttons are a little small for my hand, but then my fingers and sausages have a few couple things in common.
The converter does a great job recording programs we pre-select. You can also one-button record a program you are watching. The downside is that you won't be able to watch another channel while it is in record mode. My solution was a second antenna, so I could watch different channel (I have a 10 year old Samsung 32" LED smart TV). I tried a signal splitter, but it didn't work well. From what I understand, splitter actually reduces signal throughput. I believe the converter actually has a signal booster built into it. You'll have to read the Amazon description to be sure.
The antenna was a real surprise for me. it doesn't look like much when you first look at it. But, when I plugged it in and did the first channel search, it found 23 stations. I moved it to various spots and finally found a good one. The last search found 78 channels. Boiiiiiing! Granted, most were garbage to me. I don't speak or understand, Spanish, Korean or Polish (except for maybe a few swear words - thanks Grandma). It also picked up a 'ton' for shopping channels (HSN, QVC and a couple others). As a matter of fact, many of the channels it found are duplicated. For instance ME TV. It picked up the broadcast from Chicago(?) and maybe Hammond, Indiana as well. On the plus side, we receive the (4) PBS channels and the CW. Woo-hoo!
The box has frozen up three times since we've had it (one month). However, I've only had to unplug it once to get it working again. The other two times it rebooted itself and worked fine. It only seems to freeze up while I'm using the Extended Play Guide. It can be slow to retrieve program information and I can be impatient - button overload. They advertise that the EPG guide can display a weeks worth of programming, but I haven't been seen more that a day and a half to two days.
I bought a 128GB USB for $15.00 from Amazon, to record on. I've had as many as 8 recorded programs and there has been plenty of room for more.
I have not have to contact customer service, but after reading the feedback for other people who have purchased this box, I believe it would be a positive experience.
In conclusion, with this converter, I've been able to tell the over expensive Xfinity to 'blow it out their barracks bag', and can now happily enjoy the lower priced, 'stunted' AT&T TV. I'm very happy with this item.
P.S. I was able to watch the Bears games, on CBS, when the AT&T TV service was disrupted (must be run by Packer fans).

I bought this TV box as a Christmas gift for my parents. The installation is pretty simple. User manual is in very detai for all of its features. But my parents found the Youtube videos are more helpful. And the version we got are most updated version in 2020. The remote is more reliable than the one I used before which is dead now. It also comes with a few buttons that can be programmed to control TV too. We had no problem to record TV shows in hard drive. Nuvending support is responsive to my question too. That is I can count for this kind of electronic if there is any problem later.

Was having problems recording but customer service was prompt and very helpful. Records what i was wanting it to record, playback is great - ONLY thing is that you CAN NOT watch another channel while recording unless on same channel line (not sure what its called — 8.1, 8.2, or 8.3). BUT it is serving my purpose and SOOOO happy I found it! Make sure you use correct thumb drive (i went and got a very large one and it was too large) 32 is what you need.

I use this as a DVR to record on air TV. I have no idea about the other applications it can do. It is awkward to use but it has worked so far. My biggest gripe with it is the scheduling application. C'mon, scheduling recordings has been accomplished for decades going back to VHS recorders. It doesn't even display the time except in the schedule listing. It needs an external hard drive which is okay because they are pretty cheap. I would advise getting a better antenna if you are interested in using it like I do.
Its biggest plus is that it is inexpensive. If the recording scheduler was less wonky I'd give it another star.

I installed the devise by myself. It is pretty simple to do. You just follow the instruction in User Manual step by step. However, I did spend time to make the antenna workable in my apartment as you need find a right location for placing the antenna piece. I specially give the seller’service a five-star rate because when I need technical help to locate the antenna, their response is quick and functional. From my personal experience I would like to recommend this product to people who live a normal house instead of living in a big and tall building..

With these cable boxes, it's always the same : they may or may not work. I've tried 3 different models from 3 different companies and they all have, more or less, the same software, same connectors and build. With the right combination of antenna and positionning, you might get lucky and it might work well for you. Didn't happen for me and now I'm 60$ short. It's kinda puzzling though to see that every company uses the exact same software... Can't figure why nobody can come up with a better interface.

It was easy to set up to scan TV signal from antenna. Recording was easy and playback works.
The HDMI output to my TV is great and I use that.

Only negatives were minor.

1: Setting up timed recordings is simple but you need to set them in chronological order or a less than intuitive message about a timer conflict appears.

2: The scan of antenna is not as good as the scan by my TV alone. Several more channels appear from the TV scan.

Everything else seems to work. I bought this to record a few shows but that is impossible. If you plan to us for tv do not buy this dumpster food.
I'll have to invest in another product or a 🔨 and have fun with it.
