what a pleasant surprise -- who needs a big premiere and movie theater when you can watch Crisis from your sofa!

this is an intelligent and engaging movie that will captivate you from start to finish like a page-turner of a novel. the characters are relatable, the acting is great (Evangeline Lilly was phenomenal), and the storylines are gripping and relevant.

stay in tonight, pop some popcorn and watch this movie! you won't regret it!

Beautifully crafted and relevant thriller

What I liked best was this was a thriller first, "message movie" second. It grabbed me from the first frame and took me on a rollercoaster until the end credits. Really cool to see Hammer in a grittier role and Evangeline Lilly was strong as the mom. Oldman and Kinnear seemed like they were born for these roles and it was fun to see them play off each other. Great pumping score and kinetic cinematography. I learned a lot about this deep-reaching problem plaguing our country by the end, but was first and foremost very entertained and gripped by the story. Strongly recommend!

Great movie. Didn't have to go out of the house. Well done, based on true events, opens your eyes to what's going on with the drug companies.

Important movie to bring the opioid issue to light. We need more of this.

This movie covers a contentious but important topic that must be covered as we truly do have an opioid CRISIS. *spoilers* I wished for something better for Gary Oldman's characters' plot because we need heroes who are willing to put their necks out in order for this epidemic to end. Alas, I guess ending with a feeling of dread is how we should feel to tackle the problem at large. The photography and acting were incredible. Evangelline Lilly's performance was especially convincing considering her character's own struggles with addiction. Loved the movie and how tense it was. 10/10 would watch again!

BTW, Anybody know what song was playing during the supermarket scene? That was an amazing scene.

Great show! Always keeps you on the edge of your seat! This movie pretty much grabbed my attention and never let it waver! Make sure your drinks and snacks are full and get your bathroom break before watching, because you won't want to be interrupted after the show starts!

Rented Crisis last night off a strong recommendation from a girlfriend of mine, since we both loved Arbitrage; Nicholas Jarecki’s first feature length film, and I must say, I loved Crisis as much as Arbitrage! Maybe more! I had no idea It even came out!
I was so surprised and excited when she told me and I couldn’t wait to watch it! Converging storylines, incredible acting, directing, all showing the greed of big pharmaceutical companies... It really makes you think...
Overall a great thriller. Highly recommend :)

Great cast delivers

Director Nicholas Jarecki manages to keep many plates spinning as he weaves his tale about the “crisis” of the opioid trade, addiction, and the greed of big pharma. Great performances all around. Hard to go wrong with Hammer, Oldman, Lillly, Rodriguez, Kinnear on the screen. Thought Lily Depp put in a haunting portrayal as a young woman lost in her addiction. What a welcome change to see a thriller where the drug smuggling is taking place on the northern border with French-Canadian villains! Cinematography, Detroit and Montreal locations , music all add to the satisfying experience. See it.

Suspense Thriller

Yes, "Suspense" & "Thriller"...soundtrack, not so much the movie itself. The suspenseful music seemed to play through out every second of this movie, it felt manipulative. I read several reviews before deciding to watch it, then found myself waiting for the truly suspenseful-thriller part to start. It is a good movie, (not great), definitely on point with our current events, but there was never a moment where I sat on the edge of my seat holding my breath. I wouldn't recommend it to a friend, unless like me, they're on bed rest with a broken foot and are looking for something to pass the time.
