It's okay

It's okay. I didn't really laugh too much. The whole plot felt tired. One scene really summed it up for me--they're driving to the city, and he takes a "shortcut" because he knows it will be faster than what the GPS says. And of course, the next scene cuts to them being stuck in traffic. One of the biggest cliches in movies. This whole movie felt like that.

cringely unfunny

Was there even a script for this POS or did they think they could just take 2 funny actors and let them wing it? It actually starts out promising but then just gets worse and worse, to the point of being uncomfortably awful. If you want a loud mess of a movie that won't cause you to laugh, go for it. The number of 5* reviews have to be a joke or generated by bots or something.

The pornography took away any humor if there was any.

The pornography and foul language really had no place in this non-comedic comedy. Without those things I would have given this movie 2 stars leaning towards 3 stars.

Entertaining but not really funny

From the title you would think that Date Night is another romantic comedy but it’s not. It’s actually an action comedy. Tina Fey and Steve Carell get mistaken for another couple and get chased by a couple of dirty cops. I thought the jokes were VERY tame. I think I only laughed once. Still I watched Date Night until the end because I’m a fan of Fey and Carell and I wanted to see what happened to them. While the movie was entertaining it wasn’t that special.

Another reason you shouldn't trust Amazon movie reviews

When I saw 4.5 stars, Tina Fey and Steve Carrel, I figured it had to be pretty good. I was wrong. The IMDb rating of 6.1 out of 10 feels much more accurate. Fortunately, it was free with Prime.

It was good. Not great.

It was a good movie. It just one of those movies, you see it once, you don’t need to see it again. Had some funny parts. Not one of those movies I would recommend. My friend recommended it. He really liked it. I thought it was just good.

Tina and Steve make a nice movie couple; both charming & so natural. Strong enough plot to carry the movie; Good car chase scene. Taraji Henson gives a solid supporting act. Wahlberg puts in a good performance doing almost nothing. A fun ride.

Typically bad Carrel movie
Verified purchase
What was I thinking? Carrel movies are usually bad and not funny. Fey has some good moments, so maybe that's what made me watch it. I managed 38 minutes. It was getting worse and worse. Not only the acting is bad but the writing is terrible. The story is old and boring.
It's free on Prime and even that's too expensive :/
