Product Description
- Eating Brazil Nuts Protects the Rainforest.
- Brazil nuts only thrive in a pristine Amazon rainforest.
- They grow best in an untouched primary forest, else yields can fall by 70% in a secondary forest environment.
- Surrounding trees and vegetation are not disturbed or removed by farmers as this affects the quantity and quality of the Brazil nut crop.
- Keeping the rainforest healthy maintains the bee population who pollinate the flowers. Orchid bees are attracted to the Brazil nut tree as they are strong enough to open the flower and drink its nectar.
- Attempts to cultivate brazil nuts outside the rainforest have failed. Meaning all Brazils are grown in their natural environment.
- Buying Brazil nuts employs locals and places a value on preserving the rainforest.
- If forest communities can make a living keeping the forest healthy there is less of an incentive for destructive processes like mining, logging and hunting
- Just two animals are known to be able to crack the tough outer shells.
- Us and the agouti, a native Amazonian small mammal that looks a bit like a guinea pig.
- Brazil nuts are actually classified botanically as a seed as they grow in a large pod.
- They are closer in relation to blueberries than walnuts.
- Brazil nuts are very high in selenium and experts advise to only eat a couple a day, to avoid selenium toxicity.
- Selenium is healthy but you need just the right amount. Any issues with over-consumption will fade after you stop eating Brazil nuts.

Update December 17, 2020: This is my 8th order and they have never disappointed me. They are so fresh and taste so good. The quality is still great.
Update Sept. 19, 2020: I just purchased another bag and the quality is still excellent. They are fresh and a nice size. I have been buying these Since August 2019. I have not been displeased yet.....They are worth every penny.
Update May 13, 2020:
I have been eating this brand for a long time. I did try another brand just to see how it was compared to I'm a Nut, There was no comparison. The other brand was tasteless. UGH. It was not worth it. It made me come back to I'm a Nut. Should have never left. I was so happy to come back and update this review. Wow!! all I can say the quality of these nuts is bigger and still tasty. I try my best to just eat two however, sometimes I have to get a couple more. These are yummy. I should update my stars to a 5 instead of a 4.
I usually buy Organic Brazil nuts however they are so expensive. This product said that it was Superior to Organic and it was at a reasonable price.
You get a large resealable bag. Closes very easy and the bag is durable.
All I can say is that the quality that they are fresh, large in size...This 32 ounce is going to last for a while...I just am eating 2 or 3 a day for the selenium for my health. It is so hard to limit my portion because they taste so darn good.
I would order from this company again.....keep up the great quality.
Update: I bought the second bag and it was as fresh as the first one. My sister also purchased and love it compared to other brands she ate.
Update February 15, 2019: Purchased for the third time. Just as fresh as the first one's last year. However, the nuts have got smaller. Still a good size. In 2018 they were larger.
Update May 2019: Purchase 4th time. Still fresh. Nuts were larger than in February. Will. purchase again.
Update August 2019: Purchased again. Still Fresh. Nuts are about the same size as in May 2019.
So what kind? Raw? Salted? I've eaten Brazil nuts that come in an assortment of mixed nuts for many years. This product is advertised as Raw. It tastes like regular Brazil nuts to me. Brazil nuts have a distinctive taste that I like. We keep the resalable package in the refrigerator. I bought the 2 pound package Feb 28 and we've eaten about a quarter of it. If my math is correct, one package will last us about 6 months. Then I'll reorder the same.
May 30th 2019- i oficially purchase a bag once a week. I love them so much!
JUNE 6TH- JUST ATE THE LAST NUT BEFORE BED LAST NIGHT AND ABOUT TO ORDER ANOTHER. HOW DID I GET SO ADDICTED. I ENJOY THESE BETWEEN MEALS. I EAT THEM FOR BREAKFAST, BEFORE OATMEAL, BEFORE LUNCH OF HAVING A SALAD AND SALMON AND AFTER DINNER BEFORE BED, I EAT APPROXIMATELY 20 PER SERVING. I WISH THEY HAD A MEMBERSHIP CLUB FOR THE FAITHFUL CUSTOMERS, THAT WOULD BE PERFECT FOR ME.
