Nice love story

I must have seen this a billion years ago. But, didn't remember that until half way through the movie. What a delightful love story. Great actors and a fun story line. A very nice distraction from the events of 2020. Take a 2-hour vaca without leaving your house.

Excellent romcom

Wow, I cannot believe this did not get more hype when it initially came out. Salma Hayek and Matthew Perry are phenomenal in this. So honest, so vulnerable, so hopeful, so real. I mean, could these two BE any sweeter?

So glad I saw this mentioned in comments on YouTube of all places. Truly a must watch for fans of this genre and for fans of love and romance in general.

Very believable.

My Favorite RomCom

I don't know why this movie isn't better known. To my taste, it's a perfect romantic comedy: the main characters are lovable and believable, all of the minor characters are played perfectly, it's funny and it ends well. I'd recommend this to anybody.

A romantic comedy that explores two cultures & the difference between destiny & chance.

I have caught this movie on television several times and for some reason I have always been unable to see it from the beginning. I was happy to see it was on Prime. Matthew Perry and Salma Hayek do an outstanding job in this funny but touching film. It is a romantic comedy but has enough "guy" truth in it to entertain both genders. The theme of "choices make a destiny" is really brought to light in this enjoyable flick. a favorite of mine.

Funny, but with a bit more sophistication than most

I was very pleasantly surprised by this movie. I expected slapstick humor when my wife started playing this. I hate slapstick, stupid, fake as h@@% humor. But this was not like that at all. There were a couple of things that were a bit off, but overall this film was very well done.
Matthew Perry. I just assumed that I would hate the movie just because of him. But he did a good job here. The movie was engaging, funny, romantic, and delightful to watch.

‎How can you go wrong--Salma Hayek, what a great roll for her to play. What a comedic environment portraying a multi-cultural/ethnicity. Matthew Perry was a great asset to the movie and came across great. This is a must have movie for your collection.

Love conquers all.

One of my favorite movies that isn't a classic. I usually sit back and enjoy the oldies, or historically based films, but this one is just the diversion I need some times. I won't even go into the politically correct view of how this is an allegory of how cultures are blending in the west (bla-bla-bla) but I do enjoy the dichotomy of the two individuals, their families and upbringing and how they somehow make their relationship work. I see a lot of this in real life, since I have an extended multi-cultural rainbow family, but this movie makes it look enjoyable and much more humorous. Love indeed conquers all.

This movie holds up years later. I love the plot line of two very different people from different cultures coming together. One of my favorite romantic comedies of all time. Even my daughter loved it dispite it being made before she was even born
