I ordered these because they were on Amazon's top pick list of best yoga blocks. Based on their review, I felt they were perfect for my begginer Hatha and Yin yoga.
At first sight, they looked fine. They were shrink-wrapped and had the brand's hard plastic packaging.
As soon as I unwrapped them I noticed the slight burnt foam smell and the cosmetic dents and scratches.
There also seemed to be 3-4 small fingertip indentations on the corner of one. It's clear from the dents and scratches that they are not very sturdy or as firm as I expected for them to be.
I figured no biggie, I can still make use of them, since I've been in need for them. Figure, they are bound to get scuffed up anyway. Then I noticed one block was a tiny by shorter than the other on the long side; and when placed side by side on the short ends, I could see the blocks were cut slightly uneven at a slope if you will. It is more apparent on one of its edges. So not so great at stability, since they wobble a bit due to the uneven cut.
End of the day, I am not sure if these are knock-offs or just poor quality control from Gaiam Yoga factory. Either way, they are poor quality product. At $7 each, you get what you pay for, I guess.
Only pros I can give it, is that the colors are pretty, and the plastic packaging was high quality.
I rather just cut my losses, than trying to return them. Will be too much of a hassle, not worth my time.

Grey” blocks within 24 hours on Aug 9th and 10th. The 1st block took a month to arrive. The 2nd block took 15 days to arrive. The two are different color shades and slightly different in height and width. I am a Colorist and understand colors will vary from lot to lot and will vary even more from factory to factory, but one of these blocks is way off from Storm Grey. When colors are out of tolerance, manufacturers usually try to allocate same color shades to same retailers. I can understand that it took a month to arrive, because we are in a global pandemic, and I also understand the need to produce any way they can, but the two I received should have been from the same lot or close in color. Also, one of the blocks arrived with some defects.

They can also be used when cut in half, to sleep on them with one under each hip, BUT you need to make sure to angle them correctly to match your misalignment.
I WOULD purchase this again.
They’ll get dinged up and scratched if you’re doing any seriously tough training as a beginner like me. I fall, I wobble, I skid, and I shuffle. They go with me, sometimes they don’t, and sometimes they bounce off in the opposite direction. Occasionally with my full weight or event 3/4 of my weight the foam gets compressed and leaves a dent. Then I ruffle it up like I’m trying to fluff up a pillow, and leave it alone - they go back to retaining their original shape well enough. They work.
If you’re a beginner yoga or movement practitioner or whatever the hell we call ourselves these days, you don’t need some platinum-maximum-yoga-block. You need a yoga block you can practice on effectively, use, and abuse to get the technique. Buy these stupid things and get to work. Stop hesitating.

I also tried them in a couple of poses I didn't feel properly aligned in (but had persisted with anyway!) i.e. half moon balance and reverse triangle which has resulted in a much better posture being attained and maintained without worrying about over-extending and risking injury, Im pretty confident that with continued use and by sensibly working through the 3 heights they can be used in I will maximise my confidence and ability to execute the moves with proper form.
If I'd had the sense to invest in blocks earlier in my practice I'm now thinking I probably would have progressed a lot quicker and more effectively and would strongly recommend them to anybody wishing to practice yoga with patience and mindfulness rather than just diving in as I have a tendency to do and did!!!
I think I have made a wise investment.

The blocks in particular are so sweet looking--and just as sturdy as any other Gaiam block. Love them!

The only downside is that she keeps showing me her yoga moves in the house (when the footy is on).
It is just a foam block, but it seems like a quality product and the prints add some elegance to it.
The tapered edges are a nice touch too... not sure if there is a functional reason for them?
