This is the best pure chocolate I've tasted. Chocolate candy is too sweet, even the darkest ones, and usually contain additives for preservation. Why not go for the pure, bitter real stuff and make it as minimally sweet as you want? Just microwave to melt, dissolve sugar, and allow to re-harden to eat.
Another great way to eat this unsweetened chocolate is to place a piece of it on top of a cookie and zap it for a minute at 50% power. The sweetness of the cookie is all you need to make this bitter chocolate a real treat to eat.

GHIRARDELLI CLASSIC FUDGE
Ingredients
Servings: 25 pieces fudge
- 1 Bar (4 oz.)Ghirardelli 100% unsweetened cacao baking bar, chopped
- 1 1/2 cups Ghirardelli semi-sweet chips
- 1 3/4 cup (14 oz) Sweetened Condensed Milk
- 1 1/2 tsp Vanilla extracts
Directions
1. Line an 8" square pan with waxed paper.
2. Place all chocolate in a double boiler over hot, not boiling, water.
3. Stir occasionally until the chocolate is melted.
4. Stir in the Sweetened condensed milk and the vanilla extract.
5. Spread fudge evenly in prepared baking pan.
6. Refrigerate for 2 hours, or until firm.
7. Cut fudge into 25 squares using a long sharp knife.
8. Store in an air-tight container, at room temperature.

To add a twist on the classic fudge top with: Ghirardelli peppermint bark squares, toasted pecans, or drizzle melted white chocolate on top

I was pretty pissed when the box arrived and only had 11 of the 12 bars in it. They didn't put the box inside another box, which normally I okay with, however the chocolate box was designed with perforations to remove the side/top to make a display, so it wasn't very sturdy. You could see where it was opened or came apart, and then taped back together. I would return for refund however I need 8 bars tomorrow for baking purposes, no time to get more.

They didn't put the box inside another box, which normally I okay with, however the chocolate box was designed with perforations to remove the side/top to make a display, so it wasn't very sturdy. However, I only received 1 candy as opposed to a 12pk. I chatted online with Amazon and they immediately resent my order, at no cost to me. HOWEVER, yet again I received only 1 4oz candy bar, rather than the 12pk (48ozs) I paid for.
The representative was very kind and simply refunded me the full cost of my order.
Apparently, employees at the warehouse don't really that the box should not be opened and that it should ship as one entire order/12pk., .....no separation required.
