This is NOT real biodegradable bags!!! This is called oxo-biodegradable bags and they look like they biodegrade (because it break down into small pieces we cannot see) but they just turn into microplastics!!!!
It is cheap because oxo-biodegradable bags are made of petroleum and additives, which makes it break down fast but DOES NOT biodegrade. It is banned in Europe as it creates more and more microplastics... It's not earth friendly - it's contaminating the earth by deceiving customers with misleading labels....
If you are buying this because you believe it it biodegradable, do your research and buy REAL ones!

I choose these bags for 3 main reasons: the manufacturer indicates that they are made from components that will bio-degrade over time, price and the number of bags per box (540).
Here is my assessment after I received the bags.
The good:
The actual feel of the bags seems to show that they are made in part from bio-degradable components
The thickness of the bags is really good (my educated guess is that they are about 1 to 1.25 mil), see picture for a side by side comparison with another plastic bag.
Good size bags (13 in. X 9 in.)
There is a printed (and very useful) sign that indicates where the opening of the bag is (see picture)
There is also a very important warning sign on the bottom part of the bag that warns about the potential danger of suffocation and to keep all bags away from babies and children (see picture)
The bad:
This is more a comment to the manufacturer to use a non-permanent label that is easier to remove when you open a new roll of bags (this issue is not exclusive to this product as I have had the same issue with other products that come in rolls).
Overall I'm really happy with my purchase and very impress with the product.

Decent Bags but one BIG Issue

***Update 2***
After seeing my not so complimentary review (below) a representative reached out to me to say he thought I got a bad batch of bags. They sent me a replacement set and now after using them for awhile I feel comfortable saying that they were right. My original set of bags were likely bad as these new ones open noticeably easier. Still a bit tough if walking a dog solo but you can do it. Raised rating to 4 star.

I have used about 10 or 15 of these bags since getting them. Here are my thoughts so far on these.

Pros:
They appear very sturdy (no leaking so far)
The bags are well made (I have had 0 bad bags)
They are not clear (They do obscure what is in them a little)
Lots of bags for the money
They are biodegradable

The BIG Con:
If you do not have nails (like me) these bags can be VERY difficult to open. Most of the time the old rolling the bag between two fingers does the trick but once in every 5 or so bags, I get one that requires nails to open. Thankfully so far when this has happened I have either been walking the dog with my wife or one of my daughters (all of whom have nails) so they were able to open the bags for me. As I do sometimes walk the dog alone, this may be an issue sometime in the future. I guess when it happens, I will just get another bag and stuff the unopenable one in my pocket for later use or toss it, I did buy 540 bags so.....

As for the whole biodegradable thing, I have placed a bag in my garden (under a rock so it does not blow away) and will report back in a few weeks on the results. Nothing to report so far but it has only been ~24 hours with no rain or sun yet.

***Two week update***
After two weeks of sun and rain and cold, the bag I placed in the garden is starting to feel a bit more brittle. No other changes yet.

Definitely Compostable, Good Size, Sturdy as You Need Them to Be!

We use these bags to clean up after our Collie and they are a great size. You can pick up poop from asphalt of concrete with little fear of the bag tearing (you do need to be careful though).

AND...They are COMPOSTABLE!! Our neighborhood uses a composting digester on organic waste and the system technician approved these bags for compostability.

When we have them in our small bin for a few days you can even tell that the "plastic" film is beginning to dissolve and break down. Kinda gross and a bit smelly, but way better for the planet than plastic bags of pool being sealed forever in a landfill! FYI...Hydrogen Peroxide spray will kill ANY odor in our small composting bin! We keep a spray bottle on hand to clean it out every week or so.

My only complaint (and it's the same for all poop bags) they can be hard to open. And, I swear 9 times out fo 10 I try to open them at the wrong end! I wish they could CLEARLY mark which end is the end that opens! Alas...first world problems!

PROS:
* Biodegradable^.
* Thin and light, but sturdy.
* Easy to remove stickers per roll (no more damage/tears/rips trying to get a roll ready for use!)
* Works with all of my poopy bag storage attachments.

CONS:
* There arent' really any cons that I can think of to mention.

Use:
I realize that biodegradable bags probably aren't really that helpful considering their destination and how much else is being tossed into landfills. But, it is something I can do and I'll do it. The bags are thin but sturdy. They have a silken texture and don't feel like the regular plastic poopy bags. At this price point, they're also a bargain. So if you're a responsible for a furry friend and need to pick up their poop with bags that perhaps are less impactful than others and need a bunch of them, these will suit you just fine!

This box of rolled up poo bags will last a while! The rolls fit my existing poo bag dispenser and apparently the bags are biodegradable... Along with the substances contained?
Anyway, already used one, not overly thick but not as thin as some I've used either.

**Update** I'm a couple of weeks into my new poo bags, and although I do use the dog poo bin, I'm slightly less concerned that these bags will cause harm to the environment. Ok, so I know I said I couldn't rate a poo bag? Well now I can! I'm just literally on my second roll (I have 2 dogs) and I thought, just because I'm lazy, I'll grab a roll left over from my original bag purchase (not these ones)
Sorry if you're eating at this moment in time, but you are reading a review about bags made for poo? 😆 Anyhow, I grabbed a couple of my old bags and as is usual, the dogs decided to do their thing on the grass verge opposite to where we live - I bent down to pick it up and ewww, (let's just say I'd forgotten how flimsy they were). They are pale blue in colour so off I trot to the poo bin, dogs in tow, and by the time we got there I had a big sludgy mess. Think chocolate in a clear plastic bag that has been left in the sun... 😣 <Shudder>
That was it for me, no going back! The "brown" bags now have so much more appeal! I can poo pick from my garden daily and not have to worry about accidents on the way to the dog bin - and although of course, I wash my hands when I get back home, I don't have the great urge for wet wipes and hand gel (cue old, thin, blue poo bags) that I had previously. Also, I can get both dogs mess in one bag as opposed to using two or three of my previous smaller bags and I'm actually now quite proud of my brown bag on my way to the bin - I'm now a very responsible, ecological, dog poo picker! Lol
100% will order these again when the time comes! Just thought I'd share that with you, now go wash your hands and go back to your food 😉

This piece of the bag has been in water for 2 weeks. No signs of degradation. These are definitely not made of corn starch. Very disappointed. I was searching specifically for the degradable bags and bought 2 big packs because these are not sold in my country, but this is a scam!

No downsides at all. They did the job and I could use with confidence. No more plastic poo bags for my dogs!

Edited to add that These bags are a mix of corn starch AND PLASTIC so they don't fully break down. Better than normal poo bags but not quite as I thought eco-wise. They contain PBAT, a biodegradable thermoplastic copolyester.

I decided to go upmarket and purchase some durable poop bags. My partner was always complaining about the bags being so thin and getting poop all over her hands. I didn’t have the same problem and I thought they were ok.
So I read up and ordered. These Arrived in great time and they looked the part with these little rolls tightly packed into one box. I had ordered two boxes and received 1,080 bags for £24.
They are very well made, but...........
The only thing that’s not to my liking, there are no tie handles. It’s just an opening and although they are deep so you can sort of tie it, putting handles on would make this product perfect.

Brilliant poo bags. Great size, really sturdy and a super non plastic feel. They're biodegradable as well. Fantastic value and quick delivery. I've bought a variety of poo bags before but these tick all the boxes. I haven't given any stars for the scent because they're not scented. I can't see the point and all the ones I've tried that are scented smell pretty bad anyway !
