Our Dog LOVES Them, Gone in an Instant! My dog doesn't know what to make of a pill, so just thinks it isn't food and isn't interested. Wrap it in this and it is gone in an instant. I don't think he has yet realized that there is a pill inside after a year using these. Our small dog gets a half allergy pill every morning and evening. I usually break these into halves, quarters, or sometimes even into fifths and just mold it like play-dough around the pill. He will do all sorts of tricks for these. Once given it is just gone, no chewing or anything, and he looks at me like I haven't yet given to him. My dog is nuts for these. We do have a friend with a large dog, who seemed disinterested after seeing what our dog was so into. So it might not be perfect for all dogs. But I don't know how else to get my dog to take his pills. If I only mix in a pill among his regular food dish, he will carefully weed out the food and leave the pill behind. These are prefect for our dog.
They look perfectly shaped on the package, but in reality they are all dumped in a combined bag together, and are not rigid, so they are going to get deformed. I carefully took out every one and put them on the plate for the picture so you can see best how they are likely to arrive, before you start handling the bag a lot at home. At first you might think it bad if many are malformed. But then you realize it doesn't matter at all. Just use it like play-dough and mold it around the pill. In fact, I need far less than a whole one anyway, so I easily break them into pieces and mold back together as needed.
The bag has a zipper seal. But personally, we like to keep a little dish with a lid for convenient access that stays on our counter for his morning and evening pill, and only pull out the bag to refill the little dish. It seems more convenient in a small rigid container than opening & closing the bag each time. But it stays fresh in both places in the meanwhile.
That will seem slightly wet or oily on your hands, and appear more wet if they sat a lot longer in the closed bag. But they will dry out more in frequent use. But it does leave my palm a bit shiny, so I always have to wash my hands after. It doesn't smell strongly to a human, so there isn't a real odor to cause concerns if you are sensitive, but I wouldn't say they are odorless.

Greenies Pill Pockets -- effective for administrating canine meds, but recently Pill Pocksts have become mush Pockets!

Update June 2016: the last bag seemed fine, but since then I encounter bags of mush.So much for quality control, does not seem to be much in this department going for this company.A nice product, little competition, but the end result is no longer worth it... cheaper and easier to wrap a tablet in a slice of deli meat and go from there.My dogs, most of them seniors on meds or fosters on meds, have been taking their prescriptions willfully and regularly thanks to Pill Pockets. There's just something about them that my arctics (Malamutes and Siberians) love.Pros: mushy, enabling most any kind of tablet, capsule or pill to be wadded up into a tasty treat and quickly consumed.Cons: what used to be a bag of formed "pockets" has recently become a foil bag filled with with bits and pieces of what might have been, or should have been pockets. True, I can make up a mush-ball with meds inside, but my monthly supply (120 pockets for 2 jumbo Malamutes) is experiencing shortfall after piecing together pockets from parts.Greenies, Inc needs to inspect their output and fix their Quality Control problems.
