I have bought four (4) hp ink cartridges in the past 6 months. I'm lucky to get 40 pages out of a black ink 63 cartridge. NOT the recommended 190 pages. And maybe 30 pages of color ink instead of the 165 they claim. RIP OFF. And you can only put HP ink cartridges in the printer or you will get an error. So you are forced to pay $43 for ink that lasts maybe 40 pages. It's cheaper to print at the local library. HP should do better quality control if you read other reviews it sounds like these cartridges are being sold half empty. NOT OK for the price we pay.

Ordered the 2 pack (1 tri-color, 1 black cartridge). Item arrived quickly (so that's good!). However, the box was taped shut, indicating it had been previously opened... ok, no big deal, that happens sometimes. Then I find the black cartridge already torn open & the cartridge missing the protective strip, also indicating it has been used. Installed it & my printer gave me this messsge: "Previously Used Genuine HP Ink." I saw some other reviews saying the cartridge was depleted long before it should have been, I'll be documenting how many prints I'm able to get out of this. Double checked to see if I missed anything in the description, I still see nothing about reused cartridges being the items for sale.
**Update: Black ink cartridge is already empty. Description says the black cartridge will yield "190 pages in black." Did not get anywhere near 190. Will not be ordering again.

This is a great deal. As you can buy them from other retailers for 2x the price. My only issue is not with the colored print cartridge which still remains 90% full. My issue is with the black ink cartridge which is supposed to be full as I have only used it a few times but it is indeed almost completely empty. I bought them together yet one is almost gone? Seems fishy. Buyer beware.

The black worked fine. I put the color in, and the machine would not read it. We turned the printer on and off, and installed and reinstalled it multiple times before finally giving up. We happened to have another color cartridge on hand, and put it in. It worked immediately.

I pay extra for genuine HP parts so that we don't have this problem.

UPDATE:

HP actually got in contact with me, and resolved the problem. Color me IMPRESSED with HP! Most companies today don't seem to care about anything. I have changed my "star" rating to the top.

Ink runs out fast. Will not buy again

Do not recommend. The ink ran out so fast. I had originally used the 63xl for black and tri color and it lasted so long. I printed out over 100 color and black and white photos and still had ink left. Very disappointed about this purchase. Thought it would last as long. Will never buy this again.

Ad Pop-up's

I bought this for my work and I am in accounting and print over 20 pages a day. Once I installed the ink in my printer an ad popped up. I clicked the button not interested, but every time I printed something, the ad will pop up. That got annoying really quick, but I kept working and trying my best to ignore it. Then today, I had enough. The ad kept popping up even when I was not printing anything and would do it every 20 seconds. I went into my programs to see if something was downloaded and could not find anything that would relate to the HP ad. So I took the ink out of my printer and the ad's have gone away! My computer was getting slow like it had a virus and now it is quick again. I would not recommend buying this ink, it seemed like there was something downloaded into the ink cartridges to cause the ad pop ups and slow your computer down. I normally go to Office Depot to buy my ink and will continue to do so, I don't trust buying ink now on here. Hopes this helps because I did not see anyone mention the ad's, but like the other reviewers, the ink is really low as well. I had this for less than a week and I have thrown it away before its full use.

High quality black and white prints and decent quality colored prints

Our old HP all in one printed used HP 63 ink cartridges. This is a 2 pack of cartridges which contains one tri-color ink cartridge and one black ink cartridge. Make sure you order directly from Amazon if you want authentic HP ink cartridges. Many third party sellers are selling fake cartridges.

I learned the hard way not to order HP ink cartridges from third party sellers. On more than one occasion I received cartridges that looked like authentic HP cartridges but that my all in one printer did not recognize as authentic cartridges. They last a lot shorter period of time than real HP ink cartridges.

The page yield for these cartridges is 190 pages. These cartridges do not print anywhere near that number of pages before running out of ink. Printing only in black and white I get an average of 100-120 pages per cartridge. Printing in color I get an average of 60-75 pages per cartridge.

If you do not use your HP printer on a regular basis your ink cartridges will dry out and your prints will start to look sloppy. You can try a couple of cleaning procedures on your printer but more often than not you will have to replace your ink cartridges.

In our house we have a general rule to print at least one black and white and one color page a week to keep the ink cartridges from drying out. Ink cartridges are expensive and you don't want to have to replace them all the time because the ink dries out.

I am impressed with the print quality of the HP 63 Black Ink Cartridges. They produce high quality black and white documents with solid lettering without whiting on the print. When your ink cartridge starts running low you will start to see whiting on your print and you know it's time for new ink.

I am less impressed with the print quality of the HP 63 Tri-Color Ink Cartridges. It doesn't matter if the printer is brand new, recently cleaned, or recently aligned there is always some gaps in the color printing, especially when you are printing large areas of a single color such as a background color.

Unlike the HP 63 Black Ink Cartridges, the HP 63 Tri-Color Ink Cartridges do not give you much warning when they are almost out of ink. Instead your page will print with black outlines and white inside where the colors should be. Then you know it's time to change your ink cartridge.

As with most HP ink cartridges both the HP 63 Black and Tri-Color Ink Cartridges require you to align your printer after you put in new cartridges. The alignment process varies depending on the model of your printer, but it's always a waste of ink in my opinion. Cleaning your printer also wastes a lot of ink.

I only ever use authentic HP 63 Ink Cartridges in my old all in one printer (except the time I got fake cartridges unknowingly) so I cannot speak to whether or not the prints are of a higher quality than you would get with a generic ink cartridge. HP 63 Ink Cartridges are expensive if you do a lot of printing.

At the end of the day it is possible to get an authentic combo pack of HP 63 Ink Cartridges on Amazon if you order them directly from Amazon and not a third party. I just wish that HP would be more honest about the page yield for their ink cartridges.

I ordered this cartridge 6 months ago, I hardly ever print. I have printed nothing that uses intensive amounts of ink like photos. In total I printed a 25 page regular script document and about a dozen short emails. THe ink level after this is showing near empty . HP claims this cartridge wil print 500 regular pages. It did not even print 1/10 of that. Thus each page I printed cost me around $1.00. I will never order online form this source again as I am sure I got a cartridge that did not contain anywhere near the amount of ink it claims to have.

HP 63 made in China are four Stars

HP 63 included in the "HP 63 All in One Printer 5255" (which I reviewed and gave ONE STAR) were not made in China but came with the printer would not fit. Actually I kept getting an error message. Therefore, Amazon had to replace the HP 63 Combo Pack. There is very small quantity of Ink in the Cartridges.
Even with free replacement HP 63, price wise, HP 63 is a BAD DEAL.
I do not recommend this HP Product.

Continuously get a message that these cartridges are not compatible with an HP printer. Cannot get in touch with HP support (a maze to get through), to request replacement cartridges because my printer is out of warranty, which has nothing to do with this purchase.

Update: Was told that it's my fault that the ink cartridge doesn't work. No refund or replacement provided. Not sure if this is a legitimate product.
