Heartfelt story marred by poor presentation and too much self-congratulation by contributors

I'd been looking forward to this for a few years, and wanted to really love it. While Hodder himself is an engaging presence, and doesn't shy away from opening up to the audience about his life, the lack of a real overall narrative and constant self-promotion from most of the other interview subjects completely undermines Hodder's storyline, which is a real shame given how many years it took him to open up about this.

This needed the input of a real documentary filmmaker, and not simply a horror genre fan. There is so much more to his story and career beyond just Friday the 13th and a handful of bad direct to video films.

Great Documentary

I have been a fan of Kane Hodder since the 80's when I first saw Jason Takes Manhattan. Like most other fans of the series, I truly believe he is the one true Jason. This movie delves so deep I was unprepared for it. I loved the stories about his early career and how he came to be Jason, as well as everything he's done since being Jason. And I really loved the first hand accounts from friends, family and people he's worked with. All of that was terrific, but when he starts telling his most personal story I completely fell apart. I was crying like a baby. It's really worth watching if you are a fan of Kane Hodder, horror films or just a really compelling human story. He seems so genuine and sincere. I had the pleasure of meeting him in Salem, MA right around Halloween in 2010 or 11 or 12 (sorry, I have a bad memory) and it was the same thing. He seemed so genuine and not at all bothered to have to be talking with me or posing for a picture. It's a great memory for me, and this film really just made my day.

All of my great Nightmares

All of my great Nightmares Came from This Man--> Jason/Cane Hodder! If you are a die hard Friday 13th fan then you WILL NOT be disappointed. He goes deep, gives you plenty of emotion and get's personal about his nightmares that he had endured growing up. This was magnificently put together. He leaves no stone turned in this Masterpiece. So Please excuse me while I go do a Friday 13th marathon!! I highly recommend watching this film to anyone, especially to his Fans.

really interesting man. he talks about his acting approach to playing a role in a hockey mask, how he uses his body to express the character, about his other acting jobs and stunt work and the terrible injury he suffered as a young man. one can see why his lines at conventions are so long. he comes across as a warm caring man, someone who cares about the fans. i think horror fans would like it but it would also be interesting to anyone curious about movies.

Hollywood can learn from Kane Hodder what makes great cinema and why moviegoers support actual TALENT over political ideology.
