Funny Show

Holliston is a great show for fans of sitcoms and horror movies alike. There are so many references to horror movies in each episode, so if you are a die-hard horror fan you will relate to the characters. For me, the funniest part of the show is Dee Snider. Every time he is on screen, the show reaches infinite levels of hilarity. Tony Todd guest stars in an episode, playing a parody of himself. It is hilarious, and shows a different side of himself that we've never seen before. Tony Todd is famous for playing creepy roles like Candyman, and here he plays against type and shows his comedic side. There are also guest starring roles by John Landis, Danielle Harris, Kane Hodder, Seth Green, and Ray Wise in Season 1. The show isn't perfect as it does get repetitive at times, and I would have liked for there to have been more than six episodes. Still, a very good show!

and mentioned his work with the deceased in a horror sitcom called Holliston where Oderus plays the part of an imaginary friend

I discovered this hidden gem when I was watching a youtube video of the funeral of Gwar front man Oderus Urungus. Adam Green gave a eulogy, and mentioned his work with the deceased in a horror sitcom called Holliston where Oderus plays the part of an imaginary friend who lives in a man's closet and gives terrible advice. Just on the awesomeness of that idea alone I gave this series a try, and I was NOT disappointed! It turns out Dee Snyder is in it too- which sold me on the idea further. It's a shame this got it's start on the ill-fated FearNet channel, because if it was a Netflix show instead it would have taken off a LOT more! It's odd, inventive, funny, fucked-up, and well-thought out script wise. I can't wait to watch the second season, and I REALLY can't wait to see the third season when they finish it. My advice is to watch this with a friend, then the both of you recommend it to ten more- this is something funny AND unique and you can tell everyone involved with making it really loves their work!

I Love this show. It's definitely not for everyone. The laugh track does take some getting used to. Looks like the 1st season dropped in price. Well worth purchasing.

Horror Nerds will love this

I love this show. It is what "Big Bang" could have been if they were willing to risk being offensive. The two main characters are aspiring horror movie makers in Holliston MA. They work at a public assess TV station. Adam Greene, the creator is also the creator of Hatchet. He is a real insider in the horror community, and he brings guests (John Landis, Tony Todd, Kane Hodder, etc) into the show - often as themselves. It's awesome and funny, but there are some jokes and references you won't get unless you're a horror fan.

Horror has never been so funny!

The levels of comedy and the horror references in Adam Green's near-perfect Horror/Comedy Sitcom may go over the casual viewers' heads - but for hardcore HORROR fans like me, it really doesn't get much better than this. Comedic and quirky, the show has it all - a hilarious cast, a plethora of laugh-out-loud moments, and blood!!

Granted, I grew up just a few towns over from Holliston, in Milford, so I'm more than familiar with the in jokes & setting, & biased.
But this show is just really funny, & you can tell the cast is having fun, not just cold acting.
You can believe these people are actually friends, not actors pretending to be friends, & that counts for a ton.
You can tell not alot of money gets put into the sets, but like "Lucky Louie", the exceptional HBO series Louis C.K. had
years back, it gives a stage element that is really appealing. You feel like you're in the room with these guys.
Dee Snider is the not-so-secret weapon....brilliant as the cable station boss/small town hair metal wannabe Lance Rockett.

If there is a season 3, I really hope we get a little more Dee. Not because of the "name" thing, but because he's genuinely funny.

Can't recommend this enough.

I watched a couple episodes just to check out, mainly because Dave Brockie is in it. But then I quickly became hooked on it, despite the fact that Brockie only appears briefly in each episode. I kept buying one episode after the other before buying the second season, which I got in non-HD because I felt guilty for spending so much money at once. My advice? Save yourself the trouble and by the whole series in HD. It's not your typical sitcom. It's better by far. And that's coming from someone who usually hates sitcoms.
