THERE IS SOMETHING THAT IRKS ME TO NO END: WHEN A LONE CROOKED MAN, ONE MAN CAN ORCHESTRATE SO MUCH PAIN, A LIFETIME OF PAIN ON OTHERS, AND OUR WHOLE COUNTRY AND IT GOES ON AND ON UNTIL THERE IS SOMEONE WHO STANDS UP FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS. HOW CAN THAT BE? BUT IT IS. But it is...reality! But it is reality! ONE MAN.
.....ONE MAN LOWERS THE BAR INCREDIBLY SO...ANOTHER MAN RAISES THE BAR INCREDIBLY SO.
Well performed, well written....held in a slow but methodical presentation to make the viewer a part of the ''''essence'''' of this justice to know that it is wrong. And to fight for justice is to help justice rise. Rise. Rise. And, at the same time the coming and knowing that Right will sometimes rise no matter the odds.

A brutal undertaking launched upon a man with pride making the toll he was forced to live even worse but it was relief for me that there were decent people about that dreamed and hoped and worked hard to make justice prevail. ALL AMERICANS SHOULD VIEW THIS FILM.

Hurricane is based upon the true story of Rubin The Hurricane Carter played by Denzel Washington. Carter was a boxer who was wrongly convicted of a murder. The story is about how he fought his case and found his freedom.

The most effective part of the movie is the start where it shows Carter’s plight. The movie uses a series of flashbacks to tell Carter’s story. For instance it shows him winning a boxing championship, him being in prison, the shooting he was accused of by a man in surgery who didn’t identify him, the book he wrote about his life while imprisoned, and more. It lays out how the police and justice system were racist and were intent upon incarcerating black people. The judge for instance gave a speech about wanting to send him away to a real prison because he was such a menace even though he was a pre-teen little kid.

I have to say you root for Carter because of the injustices he faced. At the same time the Canadians that came to help him are a bit weird. They didn’t act strangely but their story is just an add one.

This fictional movie that is passed off as a true story, is disgustingly one sided. Rubin Carter was just a criminal that the left decided to canonize so they could feel good about themselves. They smeared Vincent DeSimone a man of integrity, that was made out to be a virulent racist, this was disgusting. I watched the movie and then did a bit of research and was amazed at what I found out. I suggest anyone else that watches this drivel to do the same .

This story is an important look into the depth of how vulnerable children are and how far we need to still go to protect them. If abortion had been legal in the 1950's I would not be alive. Say what you will about Catholics and Lutherans, but they saved my life even though they also abused me. I am not ruined, nor am I sorry to be alive. The lies about my identity were necessary to a point, but I have nothing to be ashamed of. I thought I was the youngest of 7 children, I am actually an orphan and an only child with one dead brother and one who was given into foster care. Still glad to be alive.

Human beings... Those words should mean more to everyone one of us. Color. What a fragantly ignorant thing. To treat another human being so egregiously shatters my soul. Today our courts still let injustice happen. Stand for justice. Stand for the truth. Let the hateful see you smile. It harms them more than anything you can do to them.

hola to all.i was a teenager when i think he was in prison etc met lesra
the 80's etc. but i know i have never heard of this until atty.told me about this amazing film. i am so happy she told me,she is a FORMER Judge. as,being a advocate on civil rights,equal protection for ALL innocent on parental-child rights in new jersey tri-state area nyc etc.i know how this man must have felt.
the fact a prosecutor can go to court proceed as if he has REAL evidence
all conjured up,fabricated withheld etc. all in the name of jealous hatred
to secure a state win shows as the judge say at the end of the film and for the "ruling"to then be UPHELD once the proof is verified of the fraud
on the court,etc. the lies fabrication,as that is a violation of the worse kind etc. i love the judge at the end of the movie said it BEST.
(what the "state"did to him,judge said analogous to my paraphrasing is and would be more worse then the actual person who DID indeed do the crime
etc.)thus must vacate his old verdict,etc and i agree wholeheartedly...

as we know how this man must have felt being the advocate i am falsely accused,people who were set up framed etc.

D.A.G.(Deputy attorney General here in new jersey)BROUGHT this case to the UNION COUNTY COURTHOUSE IN ELIZABETH,NJ knowingly he has NO EVIDENCE STRONG ENOUGH TO SUPPORT ABUSE TO CHILD,WE KNOW THIS NOW BY THE DISCOVERY,putting time line together and collecting even reports saying MOTHER DID NOT DO IT SHE WAS CLEARED,WE CAN'T SUBSTANTIATE ABUSE TO CHILD AND OR NEGLECT!
they all lied! and suit has been filed on behalf of the 2 girls damage by being torn apart from mother on a GROSS NEGLIGENT/SEVERE FALSEHOOD.

investigatory procedure etc. regarding new jersey CORRUPT DYFS-CPS,so we know how the "hurricane must have felt"and thankful this GREAT ACTOR was
able to pop out of our t.v.screen and make us FEEL what the"hurricane"must
have Really been going through. i know MANY WHO LOVE THIS FILM ALL RACES.

three NICE WHITE FOLK who help him,advocate for him assisting in his release,as i hear him and LESRA are still just as tight,as lesra in his
mid upper thirties now.so nice. going back to watch it again i love the

I was so sad when Denzel Washington won an Academy award for Training Day. It was an OK movie. To me, the full depth and breadth of Denzel‘s talent was Hurricane! He made me laugh and cry and I was right there with him...he WAS the hurricane. A much more challenging role where “Denzel” completely disappeared. As in the story of the lady and the tiger, we will never know what really happened…

I'm an avid Denzel fan! That being said the story of Hurricane just goes to show you the more things change the more things stay the same. Although it left out a little info on Hurricane the boxer, its subject matter is the same thing we are STILL dealing with today. Maybe that's why Denzel didn't receive the Oscar for this performance and got it for Training Day instead?
