Pros:
-Good picture
-Nice features with decent app selection
-Overall great value for what you pay for
Cons:
-Major flaw that I had was that when I went to use ESPN and some other apps it required my device to update. So I tried updating my TV but the updates wouldn't finish. It would either get frozen as it was checking for an update, or it would begin downloading the update and just never finish. Magically, a day later it was able to update successfully. So it was annoying for the first day or so until it got working.
-Customer support couldn't provide many good suggestions for fixing. They gave the usual troubleshooting steps (unplug/plug it back it, restart the device, factory reset it) and those things are things that I had already tried. They eventually said they'd pass off my information to an advanced team but they never got back to me with those results.
The only problem was that I bought mine without any extended warranty, which was a mistake.
My 55" Insignia was an older version, but it only lasted just over a year.
The backlights and power supply went out and it would have cost a few hundred dollars to repair. I would have had the repair done, but I was told that they could cause more damage during the repair.
Too risky, so it was scrapped.
Great TV otherwise.
Review update...10 Days In and I like this TV more than what I did when I first reviewed it. It’s really awesome! We have watched several 4K Blu-ray movies and they’re just awesome on It! The picture quality is amazing. Especially when you’re factor in the price I paid for this TV. I could not recommend this TV enough. It’s an amazing TV for the price. I have a 60 inch 3-D TV that we don’t use very often. It’s setting below this one. I finally managed to hang This TV by myself. Don’t ask me how? LOL. It wasn’t too bad. Buy this TV, you won’t be disappointed. Update. I've had this TV for over a year. And I still think it's awesome. Because it is.
