She should have asked Byrd to be apart of this show!
This show doesn’t have the Judge Judy feel. It is just the dollar store version of her last show. This premise doesn’t work without Byrd he was as important to Judge Judy as she was to that show. Byrd brought a tough, Intelligent , funny, and serious personality to the show. Judy Justice is a joke compared to Judge Judy. The court stenographer looks nervous every time Judge Judy looks at her to laugh at a joke she told for the past twenty five years. The granddaughter has nothing that matters to say and the only thing she really does is chat in chambers with her grandmother over something we just watched 8 seconds before, that is not necessary. The Bailiff is not assertive or knowledgeable and doesn’t seem comfortable on T.V. The chemistry is terrible with the whole cast. If Byrd would have been asked to be apart of this show. I would have kept watching it. I watched four episodes and will no longer be watching Judy Justice. Should have kept Byrd!

Byrd's Absence Kills the Show
Without Petri Hawkins-Byrd ("Byrd") as the bailiff, the show is severely damaged. I'm such a fan of Judge Judy that I nevertheless overlooked the disgraceful way Byrd, her putative "friend" of 25 years, was summarily dismissed, and watched the first episode. His absence is painfully apparent. The producers have made the additional mistake of replacing Byrd with another Black man, who Judge Sheindlin accidentally refers to as "Byrd," as if she can't tell one Black person from another, and the producers, who evidently didn't notice this racist trope or didn't care, have compounded her blunder by allowing it to be be aired. Further detractions include needless new personnel: a petrified clerk (who's also her granddaughter) and a haplessly ignored stenographer. Say what you want about Byrd doing crossword puzzles during the proceedings -- and it's not like Judge Judy gave him much else to do -- they balanced each other well and had a genuine chemistry totally missing in this show. One of the guilty pleasures in watching her dispose of her vexatious low-life litigants with such peppery dispatch was watching her work with Byrd, whose desultory calm imbued her with an unassailable virtue. The show might go on to recover from its self-inflicted wounds but it's not the same without Byrd, and that's what we seek in watching Judge Judy: the same and the familiar.

No compassion, no empathy, and out of touch
Even though she changed her hair style last season to mimic Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the haircut is the only thing they may have in common. I have yet to see her show either compassion or empathy - she prefers to be, in her words, "snarky." Can't understand why people have to delete messages on cellphones to have space, does not understand why someone can not just suddenly move from where they live (is apparently clueless that money is needed for a move). And the fact that she did not even offer her bailiff of 25 plus years a chance at this new series, emphasizes how totally self-absorbed she is and devoid of either empathy or compassion. I watched her show regularly, and had been disturbed by some things. this new series I will not watch at all (except for the trailer which I just watched)

1 episode was enough for me
I LOVED Judge Judy BEFORE, she literally made me an "armchair lawyer", however this new show is just not for me.
#1. Bring Officer Byrd back!
#2. Ditch the 2 ladies- (they are not needed and adds nothing to the show)
#3. The new baliff/"bodyguard" seems timid and nervous.
This is a hard no for me.

Maybe 3 1/2... I'm an everyday Judge Judy watcher. #Byrd
WHERE'S BYRD?! ☹ After ALL these years?! I'm perplexed. When I would watch Judge Judy I knew her/our friend Byrd would be there. Sometime with his crossword puzzle lol. He was always alert to whatever was needed to keep the courtroom in order.

Judy Justice - Updated Review
Updated: Well, initially I was confused as to the need for the stenographer and the grand daughter, and after watching every episode so far (up to 120 now) I see what their roles are supposed to be. Sara Rose (the grand daughter) has proved pretty useful in looking up evidence available online during the case as well as updating her grandmother on the current social trends and norms that might arise during the case. The stenographer is asked to read back testimony occasionally, but has been proven to be quite unnecessary. She often reads back irrelevant testimony, which brings into question HER relevance. The bailiff doesn't play much of a role after introductions, which is fine by me. The cases are just as interesting and entertaining to watch as the previous show so I'm happy. The added review of the case in the judge's chambers is also nice to see when she elaborates on her decision.

1st Review - I fricking LOVE Judge Judy. So glad she has a new show. It looks like it will be just as entertaining, or even more, than the original. Can't wait!!!!!

Officer Byrd REALLY made the difference
Something is way off, not as aggressive as before. I would do away with the 2 ladies on camera. Typing sound is annoying. What are they doing there?? Judy's sarcastic chuckle while she speaks is quite annoying. The comments with Judy and her granddaughter (?) is such an overkill.... basically granddaughter agrees with everything Judy says. I'd give it zero stars, but there is not an option. BRING BACK BYRD!!!!
