My cockatiel had zero interest in this clipped upright in his cage. It was taking up a lot of real estate in there, so I took it out and put it on top of his cage. He eventually started chewing on some of the toys, so one day, I tried getting him to step on, and he did! Previously we had no options of being able to move him from point A to point B. He must have suffered some sort of trauma from his former home. This has allowed us to slowly include him in our daily activities. Now he gets mad if we don’t have time to take him downstairs to breakfast. When we wake up and open his door, he goes right to his “magic carpet” in anticipation of coming with us. It’s also allowed us to get him to start hanging out with us when we’re relaxing in bed watching TV. He has chewed it quite a bit, so we’ll be buying another one shortly.

As you can see, I have a cockatiel and he loves foraging. A bird needs a pastime. This type of toy really does the job. I have hung the toy by two hooks and it fits in the cage perfectly. It was just received so Rikki, my female cockatiel. She needs to adjust to it before I can rate her love for it.

My tiel loves this. Depending on how creative we get for it to stay up in the cage it lasts about 7-11 days.

Biggest recommendation would be a better clipping system. Maybe my bird is silly but the areas surround the clips are where he heads first. The clips are hard to re-install on different parts of the may to rehang.

Over all I am super happy with this toy. My bird loves it and keeps me and him sane. Zip ties or similar bird safe tools help prevent you from chasing the mat around the cage.
