4K UHD Version is No Improvement

Since the movie content had been reviewed a thousand times, there’s no need to rehash how awesome this coming of age movie is. The 80’s made dozens of excellent coming of age movies and this one is near the top of the list and there is no sex, nudity, cussing. The content of the movie is so well written and acted, it stands on its own without having to add anything to give it an edge.

If the movie is so great, why 3 stars? Because we paid extra to rent the 4K UHD version and it looked no different. I know the film wasn’t filmed anywhere near HD but since it was an option to rent and pay a little more, we hoped there would be some increase sharpness. My recommendation is don’t waste your rental money hoping for a crisper or Clearer viewing option.

Like everyone else the Cobra Kai series on Netflix brought me back to rewatching this childhood favorite of mine. I've seen it at least a dozen times or more; know every scene and every line; but it's still just as great now as it was when I was 15! I was smiling throughout the movie. Gosh if I could find some old posters of Ralph Macchio, I'd dust them off and hang them back up again lol...I'm all in!

I remember when Karate was life.

In the 80's, life was simple. GI Joe, Transformer and Karate! I loved the Karate fact, I loved any movie whatsoever that had any kind of martial arts in it. I recall arguing with other kids on the school bus about how much Karate our fathers knew and who would whip whose ass.

Well that was a long time ago. I won't spoil this for anyone who is reading the review. I simply find this movie very hard to believe. The acting is pretty good but the plot has quite a few holes in it.

Great movie... terrible quality.

I was enamored to have one of my favorite movies of all time, but in ULTRA HD 4K!
Man was I disappointed.
The quality of this looks like dithered 720p.
If I had known it looked like this, I would have rented it instead of purchasing.

I can’t really say much except I had a fat crush on Danny LaRusso for the longest time and he made me wanna dress up as a shower for Halloween. I never got to but I’m still determined lol

I was born in 89', so I really didn't grow up on this movie, I learned how great it was later in life, but now I'm hooked.
