First, I absolutely love this Popover mix. It is fantastic! Great flavor, easy to make, the popovers rise nicely and stay fluffy after they cool. My only complaint was the way it was shipped. I've gotten this mix from the local store and from Amazon in the past, so I know the product is great and this particular shipping experience is not the norm. Not sure who shipped for my last order, if vendor or Amazon, but they literally threw a shipping label on the mix box and sent it. The mix box was destroyed when it arrived. Not sure that I trust using this box because it was basically open when it arrived. The product box is not designed to go through shipping without some kind of protection. A simple envelope would have worked.

The product arrived with label attached to box only. the two sides were open. As I see this laying on my porch, it occurs to me there is no safety wrapping/ envelope or plastic overit. I love this product in the past results as they rise and previous attempts from scratch don't. Not usable at all given method of sending and especially not in pandemic.

I was mistaken when I placed my order. Thought I was buying 2 boxes of the popover mix. That price was a bit high but when the order arrived and it was just one box of the mix I was flabbergasted! Couldn't believe it. I've been buying the mix locally at $4.25 a box. It isn't always available with the pandemic now so I was happy to find that Amazon had it for sale. Well I'm waiting for a special occasion to bake off the popovers. AND I must read more carefully when ordering.

12 mini-popover or 6 full sized popovers?

I have two full-size popover pans (Chicago Metallic Non Stick 6-Cup Popover Pan). The box says it makes 12 popovers but I think it means 12 mini popovers. I used one box of mix across 12 full size cups and the outcome was perfect - but tiny. They popped - but barely reaching the top of the cup. Taste was fantastic.

Next try - one box, 6 popover cups (1 full size pan). POP! Nice!

Is this other people's experience? I had never made popovers before.

I never have a problem with King Arthur products. If it has the KAF name I just trust what I'm getting.

We have purchased this product multiple times and we really like the product. First, we wanted to recreate at home a dining experience at Lawry's The Prime Rib restaurant. They turned out great and everyone loved them. Great with Prime Rib and London Broil. They have become a traditionl on Christmas Eve with Chateaubriand. What we do is mix a little Lawry's Au Jus in the batter and gives it a nice savory flavor and darker color. Always keep a couple of boxes on-hand. Make sure you get the special popover trays though, you'll need them.
