Been using a lot of this product over the years and started trusting "Prime Pantry" way too much. My last box of 30 containers all had the "Best If Used By" that was dated over a year prior to my purchase date! Unfortunately I didn't start using this shipment until well over a month after purchase, so I didn't realize I had $75 worth of garbage until then. I had the same problem with Kitchen Basics No Salt Beef Stock unfortunately. Buyer beware!

I figured this was a box of tetrapacks. Wrong!!!
One SINGLE tiny container - the size of a typical deodorant stick.
Seriously, one cup is what you get.
Rely on Amazon to semi-reasonable without reading all the fine print????

NO Salt NO added Oils/Fats

If you are a Whole Food Plant Based person then this is excellent stock for you because there is no added salts, fats/oils. The grocery stores are frequently out of stock or carry other brands that contain oil. This is why I'm just ordering this through Amazon autoship plan. This stock is a dark amber and very flavorful. I usually cut it 50/50 with water and still get fabulous taste. I also use it when sauteing or browning to prevent sticking.

From this vendor I ordered one of each flavor of this unsalted broths to try: Chicken, Beef, and Vegetable. This specific review is for the Vegetable flavor.

This product had been tampered with. The cap twisted off too easily. As I looked inside the opening, I could see the seal hanging inside as if someone pushed a cylindrical object to dislodge it from the outer rim into the container. The broth was brown and the consistency was sludgy. Because the seal was already broken, there is no guarantee

No ADDED salt.

I purchased this product because the front label said unsalted, then I panicked when it arrived and the back label said 210 mg of salt. I googled the Esselstyn website and it said this broth is ok because it does not have any ADDED salt. Making this clear on the front label would help to resolve any misinterpretation. Haven’t tried it yet, so can’t review taste. 3 stars because of misleading label.

I didn't know it was possible to make disgusting chicken stock, but apparently it is. I make a lot of chicken soup, and I like to add some prepared stock to my own. I usually buy another brand, but it wasn't available, so I thought I'd give this a try. Since the price was reasonable and most reviews were positive, I bought two boxes of this stuff only to discover that it has an odd, almost sour flavor. I don't know if I got a bad batch or what, but I almost ruined a good pot of soup! Instead, I had to buy more chicken and make more homemade stock to cover up the flavor. Since Amazon doesn't provide refunds on groceries, I'm stuck with a box and a half of this gross-tasting liquid.

I'm too busy to make homemade stock regularly right now, so this product has been a great substitute as a component in my homemade soups. I'm watching my sodium intake, so roasting fresh vegetables to add to this stock plus some onions, garlic and other herbs that have been started in a little butter has been an easy way to pull together various soup recipes with much less salt per serving than typical canned soup.

Instead of simmering the bones from a roasted chicken for hours, I can open this handy container and make a little or a lot of soup even after work with little fuss. It also makes a tasty rice if substituted for some of the cooking water.

This is now a pantry staple. Forget cooking with the watered down flavor of BROTH. You want the robust flavor of a good stock whether chicken, beef or vegetable. If you get the low sodium or no sodium varieties, you can make tastier foods for people with restricted diets due to high blood pressure.
