Great show!

This is a very interesting show. I wish there was a cool vintage shop in my home town. It figures that this one would be in LA where all the great designer vintage clothes are to be found. It's very interesting the way the owner seems to know just what everyone is looking for. She has a colorful staff that assists her and her choices are to die for. Maybe one day I'll own a vintage Chanel myself. I wonder if they do handbags? I really enjoyed peeking in at what goes on in this very successful vintage store. I think the designer resources are fantastic. Where else would you go for inspiration? As we know in fashion, styles are repeated and people like Dita Von Teese always look very put together but with a vintage flair. I haven't shopped many good vintage stores but would surely like to visit this one. However, you can surely bet that they carry all small sizes and I'm in the middle of the road. I'm sure my choices would be limited. Still, it was a fun journey to watch everyone work. The owner sure has a business plan that works for her. I'm sure she gets all the starlets before they become really famous. I know Rihanna shops there and probably Beyonce too. How fun! This is a great show and worth $2 an episode. I can't wait for season 2.

This show is addicting!

Love this show! For the record I am not a fashionista by any means, more of a t-shirt and jeans girl, but you don't have to be to enjoy this show.
The owner of The Way She Wore (Doris) is ADORABLE! Seeing the passion she has for fashion is inspiring and she has such a great relationship with her employees and clients. Her knowledge of fashion from all ages is astounding and it seems you could pull any piece from her store and she'll know everything about it. The love she has for what she does is clearly evident. Doris and Sarah's chemistry is amazing and I love watching them work together.
I own both seasons and I hope there will be more someday but if not I'm happy I came across this show and I'm glad I own it.

I LOVE this show

I LOVE this show. I started watching it this year (season 2) on the Smithsonian channel and then I searched to find Season 1. Of course Amazon had it so I have now watched the first season and it was everything I expected and more. Delores is a delightful host and her associates each have their own speciality and charm. I totally enjoy the backstory of the pieces she is selling or buying and it's been an education all by itself just to learn about the designers and the era they are famous for as well as who they have dressed for special occasions or "The Red Carpet." What a great show. I wish it was on daily, I am certain I couldn't get enough of this program. Thank you Smithsonian for putting this program on your network and Amazon for once again being a great source for entertainment and everything else I need!!

Fun and Interesting

For those with an interest in vintage clothes this show will spark your fancy. You'll see fabulous clothing, celebrities and well-known stylists visiting the shop, and regular customers that are aficionados for vintage. What is also nice...this reality show has no drama, caddy women bickering, fighting, and backstabbing. Just a shop owner and her staff that are sharing the store's collection, their knowledge, and their love of vintage from antique pieces to retro. A fun interesting show.

Didn't think I'd like it but I was bored so I ordered it

Didn't think I'd like it but I was bored so I ordered it. Turns out to be a good show. Amazed at what I've learned about designers, vintage clothes and fashion terms. On to season 2 now. Wish there was a 3rd season. Only thing I didn't care for was Doris herself. Just something about her personality was off putting but the rest of the cast was great!

Great Show!

I wrote a longer review for season 2 that encapsulates what I find so great about L.A. Frock Stars, and it all applies to this season, too. Another element of this show that is refreshing is the fairly open discussion of money. Not just the cost of garments in the shop, but how much money is spent at auctions, estate sales, and just building stock. It is a successful business, after all. Also, Doris' support of her staff who want to break into fashion is really charming to watch. Great show.

Fun show for vintage fanatics

On the one hand, I find myself thinking this show isn't that great. On the other, I have watched every episode and some twice! But I collect vintage clothes and totally get the excitement of finding new pieces. She has some amazing clothes and that is what keeps me watching. It is a little heavy on the celebrity angle, but I understand that is what probably sold the show and would make it interesting to a broader audience. Doris is an interesting woman and I give her props for what she has accomplished. I find myself liking her, despite being super jealous of all of her clothes!

Great show about vintage fashion

Great show! I don't know why it gets such a bad rap from people who like the Smithsonian channel. Fashion is just as much a part of history as guns and war. I wish they went into a little more detail about the actual pieces and less about the people buying them, but I'm a vintage lover.
