I decided it was too much effort to add an outlet above my fireplace so I decided to buy this cable management kit and an extension cord instead. I was worried this kit (Cordmate II i.e holds 3 wires) was too bulky and wouldn't look great along my trim, but I was pleasantly surprised at the finished look!
1. Plan your path.
If you're visual maybe draw a picture with measurements where you want this to go before peeling off the adhesive coat. I'd recommend taking measurements and making sure you have enough and marking where you need to cut it.
2. Cut it as needed
-I had to make 3-4 cuts. I don't have many tools so I used a hand saw :) It looks a bit messy but it got the job done.
3. Hold the pieces where you want them to go and ensure your measurements are correct.
4. Clean the wall with some water, dry it, then peel back the adhesive on the backs and stick it on the wall (one at a time)
-IMPORTANT WARNING -> When placing these down, if there's an edge that'd block off one side of the plastic... I'd recommend opening the plastic piece and ensure this is NOT being blocked by a wall, trim, etc. If it is, this will make your life much harder.
5. I'd suggest pushing the wiring through as you go just in case there are gaps you didn't notice during steps one and three.
6. Add the connectors as needed. I only used 2 or so for my project (see pictures)
Pros:
-Length was as described I received three pieces 48 inches (4 feet each) totaling 144 Inches (12 Feet)
-These are VERY sticky as long as you have cleaned the surface and it's at least mostly flat.
-The open / close snapping mechanism to insert cords works well and doesn't show too much of a "line" where the plastic meets.
Cons:
-Extremely sticky (yes this is a pro too)
--PLEASE ensure you have planned where these will go before putting them down. Once they are down they aren't coming back up without taking some paint with them!
-You may have to cut the plastic to your desired size.
-No easy and safe removal of these once you want to remove them (unlike 3m adhesive).
Overall:
I'd recommend this product if you're doing this as a long term solution and accept that if you ever need to pull them off you're going to take some paint with you.

Originally it was only purchased to handle my surround sound cables.Currently I have 2 audio cables and 2 cat-6 flat ethernet cables running through it, and it hasn't shown any sign of wearing down. All of these cables fit in without much effort and significantly cleaned up the look of my place. I can now enjoy surround sound and centrally located wireless access points without worrying about ugly cable runs.

I instantly loved this product right after installing it in my home. I wanted to wait about a year before writing a review for this item to make sure it actually held up. It met my requirements perfectly and even handled a couple more additions without problem.

I found this both locally at a home improvement store and online. The amount saved online was $5 (for a $20-$25 item), so I waited the extra day or so for it to arrive. The quality of the Legrand brand is something I am accustomed to, as I have used its medium and large capacity cable management kits in the past. It's as simple as measuring, cutting, sanding (I used a rasp), and installing/sticking. It helps to zip tie the cables together to make concealment/placement easier, but not necessary, especially if you need the cable(s) being installed to move (e.g. a cable antenna). I've used these in the past and based on that experience, paint adheres to the casing very well, but this time around I chose not to paint them because the channels were mounted to a white surface.
Overall, this is a cost effective approach to cable management that makes the appearance much neater. You could make your own solutions with 1" PVC pipe, but you'd have to install your own adhesive or use screws to mount. This kit makes it convenient because of the strength of the adhesive strips and the plastic is soft enough where a small hand saw or coping saw can cut through easily for a custom size. The closure secures nicely and does not pop open unless you have the channel overstuffed.
I highly recommend these for a cleaner look.
