Got this 3-way smart switch as a FREE gift after I purchased two (2) smart dimmer switches. The smart dimmer switches were easy to install and super easy to pair with the network. I have a 3-year old 802.11AC MESH network router that operates on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. These smart switches only work on 2.4 GHz and it says that in the instructions. The smart dimmer switches did not care that my smart phone was on 5 GHz when I paired them to the 2.4 GHz band on the same network. The smart 3-way switch would not pair with the smart phone or table when they were connected on 5 GHz. Since I was unable to turn off the 5 GHz band or force my smart phone to connect to 2.4 GHz part of my network, I used an old travel router programed with same SSID and password as my MESH network. I swapped the router with the old 802.11G travel router that only works on 2.4 GHz. Pairing was very fast and the 3-way smart switch was now recognized by the App. Swap back to my 802.11AC MESH router and everything worked fine. I would give this switch a 5 star rating BUT it took me an extra 30-minutes to get it recognized by the app because of the router swap. IF I was using an older 802.11G or maybe 802.11N network, I would have given this a 5-star rating. Perhaps the manufacturer will upgrade the WiFi chip and or program to make paring on newer multiband networks easier with the next version update.
