Not as good as the Original M705 (v1)

This is not the same as the "original M705". It is version 2. If you never had the original, you may not care. The ergonomics are still great and it has a good weight to it.
If you are replacing an older "v1" M705, there are a few differences that, while minor, you may not like either. Picture shows one of the differences (new on the left, old on the right). Size is the same, it's just the perspective that makes the new one look bigger. Differences are:
1 - the skates have changed. They are not as "smooth". Also, there are 2 in the front instead of one long skate. These are definitely louder than the old version.
2 - the scroll wheel is louder. Not a huge deal and it may get quieter with time... But it was disappointing to spin.
3 - there is no button on the side panel where the thumb sits. This was a nice addition that came in handy when mapped.

This is still my favorite feeling mouse, and I plan on using this one until it does like my other (which suffered with the "ghost doubleclicks" at the end...) I will just miss the old features.
It is my own fault I didn't look more closely at model numbers when purchasing, I shouldnt have assumed it stayed the same.

Unbelievably Poor Quality

Having used Logitech products for years, when I saw (and felt) the absurdly poor quality of this mouse, I have a difficult time believing it is a legitimate Logitech product. The two mouse buttons are nothing more that petals of plastic hovering our in space above the contact switches underneath. As such, these plastic petals move loosely, both vertically and horizontally, without their contacting the switches below.

As such, the two petals of plastic (buttons, if you can call them that) can interfere with, and hang up on, each other as seen in my attached pictures. Even if they didn't do this, the feel of the button travel is horrible. As you press on a button, it first travels a certain distance down before it even makes contact with its switch below. Once contact is finally made, button travel continues further until you actually click the switch below.

Use your imagination to picture the cheapest made, worst button action, mouse you believe to be manufactured and it is a fairly safe bet that this mouse is worse. Again, I seriously cannot believe that this mouse is a legitimate Logitech product. I cannot emphasize enough the degree to which you should steer clear of purchasing this item.

Logitech M705 Wireless Marathon Mouse for PC just plug in the USB Unifying Receiver for Computer and Laptop and it is ready to go. It has a similar comfortable fit and feel to the M510 but just a tad wider and about 3/4" shorter. The Receiver is located inside the Mouse Battery compartment in its own slot, remove it and plug into the computer. A comfortable ergonomic mouse.

I'm using this mouse with a 2020 iMac running recent software, and it's excellent. The Apple Magic mouse is good for casual use but it wasn't quite what I needed for heavy-duty multitasking for 8-9 hours a day. This Logitech mouse runs perfectly on my system and i do use the Logi Options software for customizing function and feel. Being able to tie specific functions to the buttons makes life a lot easier for what I do. Great mouse!!

I'm a coders and software architect, and use my mouse for 8 to 12 hours a day. In 30 years of the computer industry, nothing else has come close. The buttons above the thumb (back of forward) make quick work of web pages, while the wheel can be quickly set to scroll like a free-spinning fly wheel. Batteries last at least 6 months. Radio signal is strong; the mouse receiver can be many feet away from the mouse and still have accurate reception. Works great on most mousepads and surfaces (neoprene, vinyl, wood, Formica), but gets a bit flakey on glass. Overall, the best mouse in the world!

Very ergonomic and a great scroll feature

This is the most ergonomic mouse I have ever used. The scroll feature is great. This mouse has a button which you can press to unlock the scroll wheel. When the button is latched, the scroll wheel performs like a traditional scroll wheel. When you unlatch the button, the scroll wheel is released, and you can scroll through a large document very quickly without having to click and drag the scroll bar down. My only wish is that they would bring back the hidden button that used to be by your thumb, you could customize what you wanted it to do on the previous generation of this mouse. Overall, I think this is a great mouse, and you’ll be glad you bought it.

If you are like me and your old Logitech Marathon broke, rejoice! I was worried about the size of the mouse, because another reviewer pointed out that this one is slightly larger. To be honest I don't notice the difference at all. Good quality mouse for the price, I recommend this to anyone that needs a mouse for gaming and don't want to spend a ton on a razor or corsair etc. etc. Also good for office use as well. The scroll wheel and the ability to unlock it for faster scrolling is superb. Best mouse for the price.

After about 5 years the finish started to wear off where my greasy little fingers would rest but it didnt affect the performance at all. There's a logitech via bluetooth that is a tiny bit bigger and supposedly made for large hands, but the dimensions are so close to this that it's virtually no difference. It feels good to the palm when using it as it is a full sized mouse rather than the puny "portable" mice. I also like its functionality and ease of use, e.g., the top button converts the scrolling from clicking discretely to continuously, or the tilting of the scrolling button scans pages sideways, or previous action or page, etc. Several other programmable options for the L/R and two left-side buttons. Bluetooth action from a longer distance is useful when you are watching the PC monitor from a longer distance for streaming, or whatever.
