4.0 out of 5 starsImportant Tip For Mac Users With Bluetooth Connectivity Issues
Reviewed in the United States on May 23, 2018
Just got this mouse and it seems to work well. I have the previous version at work and bought this one for home. One very important tip I'd like to share, if you are using it with a Mac and plan on using the Bluetooth connection you may have connection issues initially. For me, it would continually disconnect and reconnect and it was unusable. Thirty seconds of Googling solved my problem though. Just need to connect the usb receiver it comes with to your Mac and connect the mouse initially using that receiver. I believe it is updating the firmware when you do this because I did this and left it connected for about a minute, then disconnected the receiver and reconnected the mouse through bluetooth and voila it works great!!!

3.0 out of 5 starsGreat Mouse, With ONE Potentially Big Issue
Reviewed in the United States on February 15, 2018
Let me start by saying: this is my first Logitech mouse I've ever owned, and it's great, for the most part. It works well on all surfaces, and fits very well in my hand. I had no issues connecting it to my custom built Windows 10 PC, and it works flawlessly; exactly as advertised. The battery-life is fantastic and in the couple of months I've owned this mouse, I've had to charge it once or twice.

I do A LOT of work on my PC with Premier Pro, Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects. and Illustrator. So I needed something that was ergonomic AND functional, and Logitech's MX Master 2S fit the requirement perfectly, checking every box on my list. The added buttons on the thumb rest (including the forward, back and extra scroll wheel) are wonderful, and can be assigned commands for every individual piece of software I use on my PC and I love this mouse to death, and if you like the idea of replacing commands with single clicks on this mouse, you'll probably love it too. Perhaps the one minor issue I have (before I mention the larger issue) is that Logitech decided to use Micro-USB Type-B instead of Type-C. Type-C is just easier to work with in general and my Android smartphone, and plenty of other gadgets I own use Type-C, so it's disappointing that I have to keep an extra cable around that only gets used once every other month or so.

HOWEVER there is ONE MAJOR ISSUE. I ordered the MX Master 2S in the Light Grey Colour, which looks fantastic out the box, and for the first few weeks, but when you go to clean it, that's when things go down-hill. You see Logitech used this soft rubber grey material on 60% of the mouse's body, with the left and right buttons on the top being hard plastic, the result? Discolouration EVERYWHERE, and it's dang near impossible to clean it. I've tried using water and a white cloth to clean it, but signs of the discolourationg remain, and bear in mind that I'm an extremely hygienic person. I NEVER use my computer, or any of my electronics with dirty hands, and despite my best efforts; I can't keep this dang mouse looking decent. I'm afraid to use any harsh cleaning as it may damage or eat away the material this mouse is covered in, and Logitech offers no replacement pieces for this thing. So my advice? Unless you like a grey-yellow coloured mouse, AVOID the Light Grey Colour at ALL COSTS. Stick with the Graphite or Midnight Blue coloured mice and do NOT get the Light Grey unless you want to spend $100 on a decoration. Because I promise you no matter how clean your hands are, you will discolour this thing because of the extremely poor quality and/ or sensitivity of material they went with.

I would like to see successors to this mouse be made in an entirely different material, one that doesn't easily get discoloured from simple day to day use, an completely hard plastic chassis would be greatly preferred.

5.0 out of 5 stars I really like the feel of the MX Master 2S
Reviewed in the United States on June 15, 2017
Color: GraphiteStyle: MX Master 2SVerified Purchase
I upgraded from a Logitech M545. You can see the M545 on the right in the photo. The MX Master 2S is a wireless mouse, but I was charging it at the time of the photo. The MX Master 2S looks a lot grayer in the photo because I had a bright lamp directly over it. The actual color of the mouse resembles #3F3F3F (google that hex code to see the color). I am used to medium to small sized computer mice. I decided to order a new mouse because I was upgrading the rest of my Mac setup. So far, I really like the feel of the MX Master 2S. The mouse will fill your entire palm.

PROS:
1. Feels great. I originally thought I would hate the thumb rest, but I really enjoy it.
2. The free scroll setting for the mouse wheel is very smooth.
3. The thumb scrolling wheel feels great. It is not easily bumped by your thumb. Even if you do bump it, it will not scroll much, if any at all. It has a little weight to it.
4. The side buttons don't feel awkward, I don't have to reach my thumb very far to press either one. It's a very natural reach.
5. The customizability with the Logitech software. You can set custom actions for different applications.
6. The thumb rest is also a button (harder to press than a mouse button so you don't accidentally press it).
7. Wireless. I have a bluetooth keyboard (Logitech K811) and didn't want to clutter my workspace with wires.

CONS:
1. The mouse wheel in it's "normal" mode (not free scrolling) is louder than expected. Keep in mind that I am used to smaller mice where the mouse wheel is virtually silent. When the wheel is in "free scroll" mode, it is virtually silent.
2. The larger grip might feel weird to you if you aren't used to it.

EDIT after a few weeks of usage:
My only complaint is that this mouse, at this time, appears to have issues with my MBP mid-2015 Sierra v10.12.5, when more than two bluetooth devices are in use at a time. It's rare for me to have more than two bluetooth devices running at once, but on occasion I'll plug up my PS4 controller to play games. The mouse will sometimes skip/jump around, but I can't confirm if this is an OSX issue or an issue with the mouse itself.

I have customized many buttons to perform different actions in different applications. This pairs extremely well with other programs like BetterTouchTool which let you map custom keys for even more custom key bindings.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic mouse with amazing features.

I've had this mouse for less than an hour, and I already love it. It is incredibly comfortable in my hand, has a great weight to it, and feels really solid. It was also super simple to setup. It started working the second I turned it on. I didn't even have to pair it with the Unifying receiver.

I always use gaming mice. My last 2 mice have been Razer Mamba's (Gen 1, and 2016 Tournament edition). One of the major reasons I like gaming mice is that typically all the buttons are assignable. I always assign Ctrl+F4 to one of the thumb buttons to make it quicker to close tabs in the web browser. In my experience, most regular mice don't have that feature, or they do but to a much lesser degree of customization. This one does. And it does it really well. There are tons of preset options, or you can assign key combos.

The thumb rest button is also really neat. There are a bunch of pre-programmed gestures it can emulate, which can come in handy.

I don't see this replacing my Razer Mamba for gaming (it's not accurate enough for gaming in my opinion), but this will definitely be my full time mouse for everything else, both at home and at work. It's prefect for productivity. The Flow feature lets you move (as well as Copy/Paste) seamlessly across multiple computers, which is fantastic. Of course, for it to be really useful a keyboard that does the same would be nice. They exist, but I'm not giving up my mechanical keyboard.

5.0 out of 5 stars UPDATE: Still Awesome ! Every feature I want and using the same mouse on my two laptops is awesome!
Reviewed in the United States on July 29, 2017
Color: GraphiteStyle: MX Master 2SVerified Purchase
I have laptop two computers on my desktop and, until today, two mice. I paired the MX Master 2S with unifying receivers on both laptops, downloaded the Options software from the Logitech website and had the new mouse working seamlessly on both laptops in a matter of minutes. The mouse itself if wonderful, but the Flow technology is amazing. I can even copy and paste text from one computer to the other.
The mouse is very well worth the money, especially when you consider is can take the place of up to three ordinary mice.
Bluetooth connectivity is a bit choppy for any mouse I've tried. It's OK but the mice work so much more smoothly with the unifying receivers. I used the receiver from my previous mouse in one laptop and the one the came with this mouse in the other. If you don't have a spare receiver, you'll either need to purchase one or use Bluetooth on the additional systems. The mouse will switch between/among up to three.

UPDATE:
After almost two years, this mouse continues to exceed my expectations. I use it all day for work and could not be more pleased with it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Logitech strikes again!
Reviewed in the United States on April 9, 2021
Color: GraphiteStyle: MX Master 2SVerified Purchase
It has been 6 years since I went shopping for a new mouse, my last one was Logitech too. It still works, but I decided to stray and try another gaming mouse and that was a mistake on many levels. Now my other Logitech mouse is with a family member who won't give it up (understandably so), and so I went to buy the same mouse again for myself, only to find it was discontinued. My heart dropped a little - my last mouse was Logitech Performance MX Wireless Mouse, and I LOVED it - but then with the stellar reviews of this MX Master 25 mouse, I knew all wasn't lost!

Some might balk at paying $70 (or more) for a mouse, but after I had paid that amount for my last Logitech, I knew it was so well worth the money!! And this MX Master 25 is no exception.
First of all - the fit to the hand is amazing. There is no mouse that fits the hand better, there is no straining on any part of the hand or any fingers, my wrist is comfortable, I feel it is the most natural fit and I haven't had that with any other mouse I've tried.

Also - with this new Logitech mouse, the ability for it to control 3 laptops at the same time is great!! My desktop space is extremely thankful!! I got rid of 2 wired mice, freed up a USB port to boot since one connected via bluetooth, and now, when I want to to a little gaming on the side when the workday is otherwise slow, I just flick the switch on the mouse and I'm in business and same going back. Very convenient for sure.

Anyway - I use this mouse for everything, including heavy PC gaming - I promise you, o Logitech, I will never stray towards another mouse again, no matter how many fancy lights they put on it!!!
(And judging by the durability of my last one, it'll probably be awhile before I feel the need to look at another mouse anyway .....)

So - yes - if the price tag is holding you back on this one, I just want to say go for it. It's worth every penny and also, there won't be a need to buy another mouse for years (assuming the durability of this one is the same as the previous ones) AND this is now 3 mice for the price of one as well so - there you have it!! :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent price for an excellent mouse
Reviewed in the United States on September 2, 2021

Keep in mind I've never used an MX Master 3 before, but I'd say that this is definitely worth the $40 savings. The mouse feels really nice in the hand, has a good weight and is very responsive. All the buttons/controls are really useful; there's a thumb button that supports gestures and access to multiple desktops on Windows. There's a horizontal scroll wheel as well as an extremely fast vertical scroll wheel, which both feel really solid. One of the best features of this mouse by far is the support for multiple devices. On the bottom, you'll see a button that allows you to toggle between up to 3 separate devices. This is really convenient, since I can easily switch between my desktop PC and my laptop PC without having to unplug anything. If you pair this with the Logitech Options software, you can even use Flow, which lets you automatically switch the mouse and a compatible keyboard between two separate computers just by moving your mouse to the edge of the screen. It also supports copy and paste between PCs. Overall, the features and quality you get with this mouse are fantastic at this price. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it! Exceeds Requirements
Reviewed in the United States on March 23, 2022
Color: GraphiteStyle: MX Master 2SVerified Purchase
I can tell right away that I am going to love this mouse.

The texture of the thumb cutout is grippy--an important distinction between the 2S and the slippery-when-dry Anker Vertical. The center of mass is under the palm arch, and the weight is ideal, unlike the cloud-like Anker. I have large hands, and gripping this mouse felt natural right off the bat. With a 3/4" gel wrist rest, I feel a balance of weight distribution between the wrist and palm and reduced shoulder strain. The Anker's left button position causes you to move the cursor when clicking, a problem which the flatter design of the 2S avoids.

This is a replacement for my M510. I think the steeper angle, higher rise, deeper thumb cutout, and larger arch will help my wrist discomfort. I couldn't justify the expense of the flagship ergo/vertical mice, and the budget-friendly Anker Vertical is too flawed to be a good value.

The wheel modes are just inspired! You can select between glide or bumpy with an assignable button, and it optionally switches from bumpy to glide automatically when you scroll fast. I work with lots of PDF's and TIFF's where I either have 1000 pages to skim or need to zoom to 1000% and pan. Tracking is just as excellent as my other Logitech mice, whereas the Anker Vertical was jumpy and twitchy. I can't wait to try this on a game. Configuration and mapping options are pretty deep and Flow works between my computers nicely. I didn't know I needed these functions.

You give up tilt wheel panning... Enter the thumb wheel. This assignable control is superior to tilt wheel and is positioned perfectly. The sliver-like assignable forward and back buttons win the steepest learning curve award, but now after a day's use are already a reflex, right at the thumb joint.

I do wish it ran on AA batteries, or better yet an 18650 since I vape. There will be the additional hassle of charging it 6 times a year. I had a spare USB port seal (I highly recommend this cheap preventative) in the junk drawer that will keep debris from collecting in the port. Qi and USB C would be nice, but pretty soon you're talking about real money. Packaging was basic but adequate. A quality 4ft USB cable is included (no charger).

Overall I am impressed, and I feel like it was worth the little extra dough to get a quality tool with extra functions instead of a cheap toy of flimsy plastic. The ergonomic design is a big improvement over my old flat and small M510, and the flaws of cheaper competitor devices make them a poor value comparatively. It looks cool and feels great to use.

5.0 out of 5 stars This mouse is incredible
Reviewed in the United States on June 23, 2019
Color: GraphiteStyle: MX Master 2SVerified Purchase
Occasionally I will buy a more expensive item for my computer just to see if the increased cost is worth it or not. Sometimes it is, and sometimes it is not. When I had gotten a new laptop I wanted to get a new mouse with it, and the only features I was really looking for were bluetooth, and the ability to use it on basically any surface. I have had this for nearly a year as of posting this review.

So. What did I end up getting? For starters, I did test the mouse on all kinds of weird surfaces, such as glass, my hand, or my computer monitors, and it worked pretty smoothly on every surface I tested. So it nails that. The bluetooth works amazingly well as well, and the battery life is incredible - requiring charged only after weeks of use.

I have had problems with wireless mice having a delay on initial movement, which sounds like a minor problem until you are experiencing it. No delay with this mouse. It is very responsive.

The mouse wheel was a nice surprise. It has some special thought put into it. It has the ability to roll like most wheels do, the ability to free spin, and a button to toggle these modes. What it also has is the ability to do a hybrid of these where, if you spin it with a low amount of force it spins normally, but if you spin it harder it toggles to free spin. If you install the mouse's software, you can configure how much force it takes to smoothly transition into the free spin, or to effectively disable that feature.

On the side of the mouse is a scroll wheel that controls side to side movement in the way the scroll wheel handles up and down. Very useful for applications like spreadsheets where sideways scrolling is a thing.

The mouse has a number of buttons on it that can be configured in the software. One of those buttons is actually underneath where your thumb rests, and is resistant enough to prevent accidental presses, and not so resistant that it is a pain to use. One of the things you can configure in the software is what that button does when you hold it and move the mouse. Holding it and swiping the mouse down might minimize everything on your screen, while an up or sideways motion, or a direct tap is configured to do something else.

Neat feature set, right? Well that isn't even all it can do. It has another feature in which you can connect it to multiple computers, and then you and move the mouse around between them like they are all multiple monitors. You can also move files between the computers this way. The feature is a bit on the slow side, needing time to disconnect from one computer and connect to the other when switching, which isn't as smooth as you might hope. However, it is still a very useful feature if you have multiple systems and often move files between them. Great quality of life feature!

Overall, this mouse far exceeded my expectations. I was not expecting to say that this mouse is worth every penny of its fairly high cost, but that is what I am saying. Yes, it is a bit costly for a mouse, but it is very, very worth it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great mouse for work and gaming
Reviewed in the United States on July 23, 2017
Color: GraphiteStyle: MX Master 2SVerified Purchase
If you've ever used an older wireless mouse from the previous generation (4+ years ago), you might remember that most of them have fairly poor battery life, especially the ones with built-in lithium ion batteries. Like me, you might have also had experiences where your wireless mouse would have weird performance issues or would take a while to "wake up" after not using it for a while.

Logitech has been making wireless mice for a long time. It's clear from this device's nearly flawless implementation that they've taken an iterative improvement approach to their product, with a goal of making it longer-lasting, more durable, more convenient and more reliable while also meeting the performance expectations of both gamers and power users.

This is a fairly expensive device as far as mice go, but the build quality and all the other aspects of this mouse are so great that it's well worth the price. I bought one for my office and one for home.

My favorite part about this mouse is how it's flexible between the Logitech Unifying receiver and Bluetooth. The only problem I've ever had with this device is that certain sub-par Bluetooth implementations (such as the one built into my desktop) doesn't provide a very reliable signal, but that's probably because the signal has to travel through my PC case and desk to reach the mouse. The Unifying signal is basically flawless and far superior to Bluetooth.

The other part I really like is how I didn't have to tweak or customize it at all in software for it to feel just right for me. It didn't take me any time to adjust; it felt perfect from the start.

The side buttons on the top left "ridge' are a little difficult for me to press with my thumb because they're so far back; I wouldn't have to bend my thumb as much if they were a little closer to the front. But I don't use them terribly often so it's not a showstopper for me.

The scroll wheel dynamic adjust between free-wheel and click mode is awesome. I really like it because it's easy to scroll a long distance through a big document with one swipe, but if you want to scroll a few lines at a time you can do that, too.

Overall this is the best mouse I currently own. It's just as good as gaming wired mice from the competition, but the battery life of 3-4 months between charges means the typical disadvantages of wireless mice aren't really a factor.

5.0 out of 5 stars My favorite mouse
Reviewed in the United States on April 16, 2019

I have been using an original MX Master (which I’ll call MXM for brevity) at the office for the past three years and it is by far my favorite mouse, until the MX Master 2 (though for my uses they are largely the same).

Scroll wheels on mice have been a real pain for me in the past, it seems like scroll wheels on every mouse I’ve used prior to the MXM were junk. They were always janky where clicks wouldn’t register, or scrolling just wasn’t smooth. I was talking with a guy at work a few years ago about this and he let me test-drive his MXM for an hour and I loved it, so I immediately purchased one.

I have used it with zero problems for the last few years, and I’m still addicted to quickly scrolling through web pages, code files, spreadsheets, etc by using the smooth-as-butter quick scrolling feature. For me the scroll wheel alone is worth the price, but of course it has plenty of other really useful features.

At home I was using an MX Anywhere mouse because I travel frequently, so the smaller form-factor is nice. However, it does feel a bit too cramped and when I use it I miss the ergonomics and smooth scrolling. I finally decided to get another MX Master (this one being the MX Master 2). I don’t know why I didn’t buy this sooner!

It’s basically the same as the original MXM with a few added features. The MXM 2 supports “Flow” software which allows you to seamlessly use the mouse across multiple computers (up to three) without having to manually change the connection on the bottom of the mouse. You can also copy and paste files across multiple computers, provided you copy/paste by using the mouse itself rather than keyboard shortcuts. The MXM 2 also supports higher resolution (up to 4,000 DPI) and longer battery life.

The thumb gesture button on the MXM 2 does feel a slight bit mushier than the original but for me it's easier to click. I see a lot of people complaining about the forward/back thumb buttons being set too far back making them uncomfortable to use, but I have adapted to using them a bit differently. Rather than pulling my thumb back and searching for the correct button I simply keep my thumb in its natural position and rock it up/down, letting the side of my thumb hit the buttons. It only took me a short time to get used to doing it this way, but it feels completely natural.

This mouse is super comfortable to use all day long. It is a bit on the larger side so if you have smaller hands then it might not be ideal for you.

The MXM really does work on every surface I’ve tested on. My coffee table has a glass top and no other mouse works fluidly on it, except the MXM series.

I don’t do much PC gaming outside of playing Civ, which doesn’t require twitch accuracy, but I’ve heard a number of people say it’s not an ideal gaming mouse. I will take their word for it, so if you’re looking for a gaming mouse then I’d do a little more searching around. That being said, for productivity it works flawlessly.

Finally, if you have an original MXM and it’s still working well for you then I don’t think it’s worth upgrading unless something like Flow is something you will find really useful.

This is the first mouse I’ve owned with programmable buttons so I don’t have much to compare to, but WOW! I work with excel and online databases and I can not imagine going back to using a regular mouse. You can select all sorts of custom key bindings and standard commands, even specifying different ones for different programs. I can literally do about 60% of my job with 1 hand now. Only downside is my left hand has been upset since I cut its hours.

The command button (operated with the thumb) takes a little time to get used to as it’s a muscle you don’t use often. You have to download a program to be able to use the programmable button features and maybe once every other day the mouse won’t recognize the programmable buttons. It’s more frequent than I’d like but typically turning it on and off will fix it. Occasionally you have to manually open the program and that’s annoying but also quick. Battery life is great. I haven’t actually tested it but it seems to last for weeks. I wish it had more buttons to program but I won’t hold that against it. Lastly, having the ability to connect to multiple computers is awesome when I have both laptops running.

Get this mouse you won’t regret it.
