4.0 out of 5 starsImportant Tip For Mac Users With Bluetooth Connectivity Issues
Reviewed in the United States on May 23, 2018
Just got this mouse and it seems to work well. I have the previous version at work and bought this one for home. One very important tip I'd like to share, if you are using it with a Mac and plan on using the Bluetooth connection you may have connection issues initially. For me, it would continually disconnect and reconnect and it was unusable. Thirty seconds of Googling solved my problem though. Just need to connect the usb receiver it comes with to your Mac and connect the mouse initially using that receiver. I believe it is updating the firmware when you do this because I did this and left it connected for about a minute, then disconnected the receiver and reconnected the mouse through bluetooth and voila it works great!!!

3.0 out of 5 starsGreat Mouse, With ONE Potentially Big Issue
Reviewed in the United States on February 15, 2018
Let me start by saying: this is my first Logitech mouse I've ever owned, and it's great, for the most part. It works well on all surfaces, and fits very well in my hand. I had no issues connecting it to my custom built Windows 10 PC, and it works flawlessly; exactly as advertised. The battery-life is fantastic and in the couple of months I've owned this mouse, I've had to charge it once or twice.

I do A LOT of work on my PC with Premier Pro, Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects. and Illustrator. So I needed something that was ergonomic AND functional, and Logitech's MX Master 2S fit the requirement perfectly, checking every box on my list. The added buttons on the thumb rest (including the forward, back and extra scroll wheel) are wonderful, and can be assigned commands for every individual piece of software I use on my PC and I love this mouse to death, and if you like the idea of replacing commands with single clicks on this mouse, you'll probably love it too. Perhaps the one minor issue I have (before I mention the larger issue) is that Logitech decided to use Micro-USB Type-B instead of Type-C. Type-C is just easier to work with in general and my Android smartphone, and plenty of other gadgets I own use Type-C, so it's disappointing that I have to keep an extra cable around that only gets used once every other month or so.

HOWEVER there is ONE MAJOR ISSUE. I ordered the MX Master 2S in the Light Grey Colour, which looks fantastic out the box, and for the first few weeks, but when you go to clean it, that's when things go down-hill. You see Logitech used this soft rubber grey material on 60% of the mouse's body, with the left and right buttons on the top being hard plastic, the result? Discolouration EVERYWHERE, and it's dang near impossible to clean it. I've tried using water and a white cloth to clean it, but signs of the discolourationg remain, and bear in mind that I'm an extremely hygienic person. I NEVER use my computer, or any of my electronics with dirty hands, and despite my best efforts; I can't keep this dang mouse looking decent. I'm afraid to use any harsh cleaning as it may damage or eat away the material this mouse is covered in, and Logitech offers no replacement pieces for this thing. So my advice? Unless you like a grey-yellow coloured mouse, AVOID the Light Grey Colour at ALL COSTS. Stick with the Graphite or Midnight Blue coloured mice and do NOT get the Light Grey unless you want to spend $100 on a decoration. Because I promise you no matter how clean your hands are, you will discolour this thing because of the extremely poor quality and/ or sensitivity of material they went with.

I would like to see successors to this mouse be made in an entirely different material, one that doesn't easily get discoloured from simple day to day use, an completely hard plastic chassis would be greatly preferred.

5.0 out of 5 stars I really like the feel of the MX Master 2S
Reviewed in the United States on June 15, 2017
Color: GraphiteStyle: MX Master 2SVerified Purchase
I upgraded from a Logitech M545. You can see the M545 on the right in the photo. The MX Master 2S is a wireless mouse, but I was charging it at the time of the photo. The MX Master 2S looks a lot grayer in the photo because I had a bright lamp directly over it. The actual color of the mouse resembles #3F3F3F (google that hex code to see the color). I am used to medium to small sized computer mice. I decided to order a new mouse because I was upgrading the rest of my Mac setup. So far, I really like the feel of the MX Master 2S. The mouse will fill your entire palm.

PROS:
1. Feels great. I originally thought I would hate the thumb rest, but I really enjoy it.
2. The free scroll setting for the mouse wheel is very smooth.
3. The thumb scrolling wheel feels great. It is not easily bumped by your thumb. Even if you do bump it, it will not scroll much, if any at all. It has a little weight to it.
4. The side buttons don't feel awkward, I don't have to reach my thumb very far to press either one. It's a very natural reach.
5. The customizability with the Logitech software. You can set custom actions for different applications.
6. The thumb rest is also a button (harder to press than a mouse button so you don't accidentally press it).
7. Wireless. I have a bluetooth keyboard (Logitech K811) and didn't want to clutter my workspace with wires.

CONS:
1. The mouse wheel in it's "normal" mode (not free scrolling) is louder than expected. Keep in mind that I am used to smaller mice where the mouse wheel is virtually silent. When the wheel is in "free scroll" mode, it is virtually silent.
2. The larger grip might feel weird to you if you aren't used to it.

EDIT after a few weeks of usage:
My only complaint is that this mouse, at this time, appears to have issues with my MBP mid-2015 Sierra v10.12.5, when more than two bluetooth devices are in use at a time. It's rare for me to have more than two bluetooth devices running at once, but on occasion I'll plug up my PS4 controller to play games. The mouse will sometimes skip/jump around, but I can't confirm if this is an OSX issue or an issue with the mouse itself.

I have customized many buttons to perform different actions in different applications. This pairs extremely well with other programs like BetterTouchTool which let you map custom keys for even more custom key bindings.

3.0 out of 5 stars Logitech MX Master 2S for your multiple computer needs.

Logitech MX Master 2S is a great mouse and works well on all surfaces. Comfortable in the hand. It did have some trouble connecting to a Dell Tablet via bluetooth, but I don't know if it was a Windows 10 driver problem or connections. It worked well on Lenovo Laptop W530 and connected quickly on Windows 10. I've also used it with the Logitech wireless dongle and it was flawless. Fits in the same case size as the MX Master which is a plus.

Additional update after 3 days of use:
Experiencing connection issues on Bluetooth and Windows 10 Pro. OS sees Mouse and pairs after some trouble then it will not show pointer on the screen. Logitech forum indicates that others are having this same problem on Mac and Windows 10. Laptop goes to sleep and loses mouse connection and you can't get it back even with unpairing and repairing. Even Logitech's own software won't see the mouse when the OS says it is paired. It worked well when connected but intermittent use is like no use at all.

The mouse works fine but the entire thing started yellowing after a few months and is looking gnarly at about 6 months in.

Edit: aaaand the button broke about 7 months in and Logitech Customer support has been a nightmare.

1.0 out of 5 stars I love this mouse
Reviewed in the United States on April 3, 2018

I love this mouse... or at least the idea of this mouse. The "Logtiech Options" software is super buggy and renders the mouse, well... useless... constantly dropping bluetooth connections. I've verified this on a windows 10 machine and a 2015 macbook and even tried older versions of the software on each. Uninstall the "logitech options" software and the mouse works perfect!... but you lose all the special functions/customization... and end up with... well... a very expensive normal mouse...
I see many complaints of this very same issue all over the Logitech boards. Logitech needs to get this addressed ASAP. Until then... 1 star for this normal (very disappointing) mouse. I'll hold on to it for now to see if this gets fixed... i want to like it, i really do want to like it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Didn't work - horrible horrible customer support
Reviewed in the United States on September 17, 2018
Color: GraphiteStyle: MX Master 2SVerified Purchase
This mouse stopped working one week after I bought it. It started to skip and become completely unresponsive, particularly with the scroll wheel. After trying various troubleshooting methods, I decided I must have received a faulty mouse and went through the incredibly confusing and stupid warranty replacement process.

After finally figuring out how to submit a request for a warranty replacement, I received an email from support about a week later saying I would receive a replacement in the mail and didn't need to mail back my old mouse.

About one week after that, I received another email from support stating that the information in the first message was incorrect, and I would in fact have to send back the old mouse so it could be "investigated" and then they would determine if I was eligible for a replacement. They said they would send me a shipping label via email. Still haven't received a shipping label.

So now it's 2 weeks later and I'm still stuck with a broken mouse and I'm no closer to getting a replacement thanks to Logitech's dreadful customer support. Do not buy this mouse.

4.0 out of 5 stars A very comfortable luxury mouse with great performance but a few dumb design choices
Reviewed in the United States on December 18, 2017
Color: GraphiteStyle: MX Master 2SVerified Purchase
I decided to go for a top-of-the-line mouse since I spend so much time with one in my hand. This one is extremely comfortable -- probably the most comfortable one I've ever used. My hand doesn't feel fatigued or sore after hours of use, as happened with most other mice. The thumb ledge is weird to get used to, but it makes for an even more comfortable experience. If you have RSI, tendinitis or just feel pain or discomfort after much mousing, this is an excellent solution.

The tracking is smooth and precise. No complaints on that front at all.

The Bluetooth pairing is excellent. Zero lag and no unresponsiveness after not using the mouse for some seconds or minutes. It responds like a wired mouse. And this is on both Linux and Windows.

The MX Master 2S does have some downsides, but nothing I can't live with:

1. Mousewheel does NOT have side-to-side buttons. I've grown VERY accustomed to these and still miss them. It's hard to believe such a high-end mouse doesn't have them.

2. The thumb wheel, which is supposed to replace the mousewheel's side buttons, works completely differently and is no replacement for them. I used them to switch between virtual desktops. Doing that with the wheel will give you nausea, as the desktops fly by. No matter how much you try to use the thumbwheel to do something you did with buttons before, it won't work out. You're going to end up overshooting and scrolling back no matter what.

3. The two "extra" buttons next to the thumb wheel have a truly awful design. They're shaped like long opposing wedges, and your thumb will naturally lean on the bottom one and hit it with the side of the thumb. The top button requires you to both raise your thumb and retract it significantly in order to press it, on the other hand, so the movements to hit the two buttons are neither symmetric nor parallel nor mirrored -- they're idiosyncratic. And when you try to hit the top button, you're still going to hit the wheel 4 times out of 5, among other things because its larger end segues flush into the thumb wheel. Piss poor design!

4. The button for switching between computers is on the bottom, making it cumbersome to do so. The M720 Triathlon has the button placed very conveniently where your thumb can get to it without even looking.

5. There's no compartment or hole in the mouse to store the USB receiver, making it very easy to lose and even easier to just not bring anywhere.

Even though the Logitech M720 Triathlon is clearly a much more cheaply built mouse, and is far less comfortable to me, it has none of these failings. I really wish Logitech would make an MX Master 3S that addresses points 1-5 above. It would be pretty much the ultimate mouse!

Still, this one is COMFORTABLE. Can't emphasize that enough.

1.0 out of 5 stars Poorly Designed, So Disappointed in the Changes They've Made
Reviewed in the United States on February 21, 2019
Color: GraphiteStyle: MX Master 2SVerified Purchase
I wonder sometimes about the process a company uses when creating a new design because this one misses the mark badly. I've been using the old version (MX Wireless Mouse) for many years. It was starting to show some wear from use, so I decided to upgrade to this newer model. They really messed this mouse up with the new design!

The biggest issue I have is with the forward/backward buttons on the left side of the mouse, something I use extensively on my previous MX Mouse. I take a lot of photos so I use those buttons to move through the photos in order to edit them.

On this new design, the buttons have been moved much further back and tucked way up underneath a cliff/protruding edge on the mouse so they are almost impossible to reach. When attempting to use them, you have to literally move your entire hand backward to reach them, meaning you can no longer access the left/right click buttons.

Even after moving my hand backward off the click buttons, they are still almost impossible to use because of many more issues:
1. They are tucked way back up under the cliff/edge that sticks on the mouse.
2. They are literally jammed up again the side scroll wheel so impossible to find.
3. They are super tiny and designed in a strange triangular, pointed shape, not like a button for pressing at all!
4. Your thumb ends up in an awkward, contorted bend when trying to access the tiny triangular "buttons". No doubt this would lead to some serious pain/issues with my thumb in the future if I kept this mouse, which I'm not!
I wish I could rate it ZERO stars!

This is truly the worse design I've ever seen in my life. Why do companies take a great design and ruin it?!

1.0 out of 5 stars Nice shape, doesn't work.
Reviewed in the United States on October 3, 2018
Color: GraphiteStyle: MX Master 2SVerified Purchase
Trying to get this thing to work has been the most frustrating mouse-related hour of my life. It 'connects' to the bluetooth for about 5 seconds before just deciding to disconnect and slow-blink. So then I tried channel 2, paired it, and got another maybe 10-15 seconds of it moving around before it stopped. Then I tried uninstalling Logitech Options, thinking maybe that was breaking something, and tried pairing to channel 3, again it worked for about 10 seconds before deciding that channel was now also a slow-blink channel.
It's unbelievable, $10 garbage mice at least have bluetooth that works. Maddening that they're talking up all this crap no one needs (File sharing/Flow)... how about adding a feature where the mouse actually works at all?
My last few mice have been Corsair but they generally break down after about 6 months, so I figured a brand like Logitech might be more durable. Holy hell was I wrong since it's a broken piece of junk new out of the box.

Edit: Still can't get it to work for more than 10 seconds at a time. Even more annoying - it does have a micro-USB port on the mouse, but it's just for charging - why not let the micro-USB let me use it as a corded mouse? That's what my bluetooth keyboard does. I wish I could give negative stars for this scam of a "premium productivity" mouse. $80 in the trash but a lesson to never buy from Logitech again.
