The Logitech MX Revolution is, hands down, the company's best mouse ever. Superior to even the likes of the Performance MX and the (ugh) MX Master, the MXR, as I like to call it, is a very handy piece of kit for a power user or even a non-professional gamer. It's got some quirks and flaws, but what good design doesn't? I got lucky enough to score two well-cared-for units and trade off between both when it comes charging time.
Pros:
-Fantastic Omron switches on the clicks- these are quality, long-lasting Japanese switches
-Feeling in the hand is amazing
-The scroll wheel is fantastic to use-- far better than the MX Master's
-Generally tracks well (if you get a good one)
-Adaptable to most situations
-User serviceable, if you've got the know-how
Cons:
-Requires a charging cradle to charge up
-Cannot connect with a wire to computer-- must use a dedicated wireless dongle
-Cannot use "Unifying" recievers-- uses dedicated dongle
-Requires software to get the most out of the mouse
-Prices are generally outrageous. Shop around, get a good used one
-Battery life's a bit inconsistent- turn it off at night
All in all, the mouse is amazing. It's not worth $400, but it's a great mouse if you can score a quality used one. Just be careful with the dongle-- Logitech doesn't make or sell replacements anymore.
EDIT 7/1/19: I'm coming back a couple years later to tell y'all how to make the mouse even better. There's a piece of software called "UberOptions" out there-- it's a hacked older version of Logitech's SetPoint software that removes some of the arbitrary restrictions on mouse functionality and adds in a boatload of other options you can assign to your mouse buttons. The only real troubles are that the options can be somewhat confusing and that it won't pick up on the newest Logitech products, which can be a blessing in disguise if you just want the newer product to work unmodified.

My Microsoft wireless mouse died (RIP). I hate wires so I was on the lookout for just the right wireless mouse. When I saw this one I was not really thrilled so I read reviews, did a lot of research and used my satisfaction with Logitech and decided to give this mouse a shot. The price tag was a little high for me but I wanted a mouse that could be recharged had some extra features and was comfortable in my hand. This mouse met all my qualifications. Once I got it I realized why the high price tag. It has lots of very convenient features. Starting with the scroll wheel. When you are looking through email it has a distinct stop and go feeling (kind of like a rumble strip) but when you are on the internet the wheel is very smooth thus you can scroll down through a page quickly. There is a little button behind the scroll wheel that, when pushed, brings up the search engine of your choice (SW setting), which I think is nice especially if you are writing a document and want to do some research without having to double click on a browser icon. Next there are back and forward buttons located by your thumb that work well. Then there is another, what appears to be a wheel but is in actuality a toggle that is spring loaded so it goes forward and back only a short distance. When used this handy little device displays all the open applications and allows you to switch to them at any time. Finally, the battery - It stays charged for several days of frequent use and has a recharger. The icon in the system tray tells you how much of a charge you have left. I think that this mouse is well worth the money and I recommend it.

So I came looking at the possibility of replacing the battery and was absolutely shocked by the price tag of one of these new!
