Product Description
Product Description
and large hands Ergonomics and Design The first thing you'll notice about the MX Revolution is the distinct shape, which is very reminiscent of a cresting wave. Fortunately, the design does more than look good. The mouse feels great in small and large hands, and the curved channel--which accommodates the thumb nicely--makes it easy to use the document "Quick Flip" dial on the side of the mouse. Above the Quick Flip control you'll find a pair of thin, customizable buttons that by default operate as forward and back controls for Web pages.

Pros:
-Fantastic Omron switches on the clicks- these are quality, long-lasting Japanese switches
-Feeling in the hand is amazing
-The scroll wheel is fantastic to use-- far better than the MX Master's
-Generally tracks well (if you get a good one)
-Adaptable to most situations
-User serviceable, if you've got the know-how
Cons:
-Requires a charging cradle to charge up
-Cannot connect with a wire to computer-- must use a dedicated wireless dongle
-Cannot use "Unifying" recievers-- uses dedicated dongle
-Requires software to get the most out of the mouse
-Prices are generally outrageous. Shop around, get a good used one
-Battery life's a bit inconsistent- turn it off at night
All in all, the mouse is amazing. It's not worth $400, but it's a great mouse if you can score a quality used one. Just be careful with the dongle-- Logitech doesn't make or sell replacements anymore.
EDIT 7/1/19: I'm coming back a couple years later to tell y'all how to make the mouse even better. There's a piece of software called "UberOptions" out there-- it's a hacked older version of Logitech's SetPoint software that removes some of the arbitrary restrictions on mouse functionality and adds in a boatload of other options you can assign to your mouse buttons. The only real troubles are that the options can be somewhat confusing and that it won't pick up on the newest Logitech products, which can be a blessing in disguise if you just want the newer product to work unmodified.
The Logitech MX Revolution Cordless Laser Mouse is GREAT!
It Feels Great Under Your Hand which is Great for using it for Long durations at a time.
It has 2 Scrool Wheels. One on Top and One on the Side where Your Thumb goes.
Both Wheels Work the same they have Up, Down, Left, Right, and their also Clickable.
They Can be Configured in the Settings which is Really Nice.
The Logitech MX Revolution Cordless Laser Mouse lasts a Very Long time on a Single Charge which it has a Stand that You put the Mouse in for when You're Not using it which clears up a little of room on Your Desk which makes it look Cleaner and Neater without it just sitting there like Any Corded Mouse.
The Logitech MX Revolution Cordless Laser Mouse is Configurable in the settings for the Sensitivity which could be Great if You Use it for Gaming.
The Logitech MX Revolution Cordless Laser Mouse is Extremely Versatile meaning that since it has a Laser, it's Great on Every Type of Surface except for Glass. Glass is a Bad Surface for ANY Mouse, so No Loss of any Stars because of that at all.
I have had Many different types of Mice for Computers over the Years both Corded and Cordless and this Logitech MX Revolution Cordless Laser Mouse is the BEST that I've Ever Used and I Would Very Highly Recommend Everyone to get this for themselves and Experience the Pleasure of such a Great Mouse.
I bought this mouse in 2010 because I really liked the way it sits in your hand. It's very comfortable and has many buttons that are done well. Most mice just sprinkle buttons all over but they are very distinct. With the earlier drivers, you were able to set so many cook tasks or key presses to the buttons. This was before the software we have now. I used this mouse for 4 years before finally switching to the G700. 1 G700's wireless receiver fried and they sent a second. The MX revolution has served me without question for many many years and as long as any issues are serviceable, I won't give it up.
+Many buttons. The second wheel isn't really a wheel so much as a spring loaded roller to activate 2 switches. The main scroll wheel can tilt to add 2 more buttons.
+Extremely comfortable. The G700 tries but there is something about the revolution that is amazing in the hand.
+Brilliant charge indicator
+Nice little dock
+Easy for small DIY repairs - I have had to fix some exposed wires on the dock from a bad fall (My Fault) and many users have done videos on replacing batteries and micro switches. I can see this mouse still working in 10 years.
- It's a bit heavy but I personally don't mind that at all.
-Some of the surfaces have not aged as well as I would have hoped. After 6 years (how dare you make a mouse that lasts this long Logitech), some of the coatings are wearing off.
In closing, would I pay 500 bucks for a new one? Not a damn chance... Would I consider buying one used for around 70-110? Absolutely. It's sad to say that I really feel like Logitech has let their bean counters ruin their products. I say this as someone who has many Logitech products that when made, where the best on the market and have lasted. My TV/Media pc runs through a set of Logitech Z680's that sound absolutely awesome. I love these so much, that when I burnt an internal fuse (Also my fault) on 2 different occasions, I completely disassembled the amp and replaced the fuses.
I really do hope Logitech finds their roots and starts making the amazing hardware built to last that they once did. I still have a 518 that works after many drops...Having a G700 burn out the receiver after 8 months of use is unacceptable from a company that has made so many amazing products. They honored the warranty and replaced it though.
