I've been using Logitech trackballs for over 30 years now, and was satisfied with them both with tails and wireless versions for many years. I had to replace one of my wireless ones that probably was at least 20 years old with this one.

Functionally it is alright, but ergonomically Logitech has gone into the sh!tter. I have big hands and earlier versions always fit me perfectly. But over the last decade, the device has gotten smaller and smaller, until this product finally has my hand flopping over every edge of the device. It is very uncomfortable to use now. If only there was a comparable side mounted thumb ball actuator available from a different vendor. I have spent some time looking but haven't come up with one I am satisfied with yet. So if you have little hands this might be just the trick for you. If you have big hands I suggest you look elsewhere.

I have found it does work well at gaming with a caveat. Use the Logitech dongle, and try to keep it within 3 ft of the trackball. Much farther and you'll get instances where the wireless connection drops and has to renegotiate the link. And don't game with a Bluetooth connect. It with be more exasperating. If you are using the trackball for day to day tasks, chances are you will probably never notice this at all.

Smoother than my M570

I've been using trackball mice for as long as I can remember, and I don't even look at other brands. It's sleek looking and smooth feeling. Once you get use to a trackball, regular mice just don't feel right. It also has a button right next to the left mouse button that I use to navigate through pages. Keeps me from having to go and click the back button at the top left of the browser. I would recommend one of these to ALL power users. The only exception I can think of is gamers who need a lot of presets on the 9 button mice.

Does not worth what it cost

I prefer the way my M570 looks and feels over this. To me the only real difference between this one and the M570 is that this one can be connected via Bluetooth and therefore you can forget about the unifying dongle. That's it. To me that does not justify the price difference over the classic one.
However at there moment of writing the review both costs same price and that is why I gave it a shot to this renewed.
It feels smaller than M570. Other than that works the same and I can live with that. Recommended only if you need the Bluetooth, if not saved money and get the old model.

I have been a fan of trackballs for a long time. I have an older version of this and use it with my laptop on a TV tray when sitting on my LazyBoy recliner. it is nice not having to move a little mouse around. It stays in one place and you just move the ball. Works great and no mouse pad needed. After you get use to using one it really is easy to go between this and a regular mouse. I highly recommend this product. oh, btw, connecting via bluetooth wasn't a problem and is responsive even for games.

This mouse has a great shape that fits the palm of your hand, love the forward and back buttons as well as standard right and left click. Rollerball works perfectly. Best feature is dual function either Bluetooth or USB wireless connect. Very precise. Battery life has been fantastic. I certainly use it a lot and have left it on for a couple of weeks at a time and same battery still is fine. Dang logitech all the other mouse manufacturers must hate you.

This is my first orbital mouse so I really have nothing to compare it to. However, in terms of the learning curve it was easy to set up and start using. The ball is very smoothe to use and the 2 programmable buttons make copying an pasting much faster. I do wish the tilt of my wrist was a bit higher for comfort for prolonged use you do start feeling fatigue in your wrist. But that is easily remedied by placing a book or towel under my forearm. The battery life is good, been using it for 4 months now (typical daily online student use) and haven't had any lag or batter changes. No regrets about this purchase, will definitely continue using this type of mouse.

I've been using this family of Logitech trackballs since my boxen had PS/2 ports. I credit them for my not having carpal tunnel syndrome. I'm not convinced I like the "ribs" on the palm area or the sharp edge on the transition from the palm to ball area, its predecessor, the M570 was very smooth and rounded and has a better hand feel, IMHO.
