I used to use bleach pucks in the water tank because they prevented nasty growth buildup in the bowl, but these pucks are known to harm tank components and boy they sure do.

So I figured I'd switch to an in-bowl cleaner like these click-gels, but unfortunately it doesn't keep the bowl clean like the bleach pucks do. All these seem to do is smell good for about a week. After that for several more weeks you will have a glob of gel in your bowl that doesn't smell good any more and apparently doesn't prevent buildup either, so why bother?

I'll use my current purchase until they run out, just for the good smell. But after that I'll have to look for something else that hopefully works better keeping things clean.

So yes, I'm reviewing a toilet cleaner. It feels weird, but these things are wonderful *IF* you can get them put on correctly. I can put them on fine. You rip off the little plastic that keeps the goo from going everywhere, you choose your location, you press the plunger, and BAM!; it is done! If you are either my husband or the lovely lady I had cleaning my apartment one day, this may turn into a rocket science situation and they will call you in while you're busy reading a delightful book, because they wasted three of them...

These little click gels do not need a massive applicator that you use from refill to refill, unlike a competing product. You just open each little package, peel off the silver tape, and push it against the side of the toilet bowl where the refilling water will run over it. Obviously the bowl should be clean when you apply one of these, so scrub it up once you notice the last one has dissolved and disappeared, apply it, and your bowl stays clean and fresh. I always keep the lid of the toilets down to keep curious or foolhardy pets out, because this would for sure be something you don't want a pet ingesting.

I want to say these last about a week before I notice they have disappeared. But that seems appropriate for the use of the toilets in my house.

I hate to waste

Ocean Breeze has an unbelievably strong chemical smell. We left it on for two days before I had to scrape it off, because the smell was giving me a headache, even from across the apartment. I hate to waste, but we probably won't be able to use the rest of the package.

On the plus side, it's easy to apply, and seems like it'd stay around for a while. Maybe one of the other scents is more bearable.

Sensitive noses beware!!

I have used these for the first time after seeing them somewhere else. The scent is very strong and could be smelled in the entire bathroom for a couple of weeks (sensitive noses beware). This was a bit surprising for me, but I am happy that they had that much power! They did help for the in-between cleaning but not quite to the level that I expected them to. I dropped a star because they did not help with the cleaning as much as I expected.

Awful smell

I read about someone else who had to scrape this off before second flush and thought they might be extra sensitive or dramatic, but they were right. The smell was so bad that I also scraped off this gel from the two toilets I had applied to before even a second flush (and yet the bad smell remained for days). I will go back to the one with the applicator. If there was a less awful smell, it was night to have the single use applicator, but that smell was horrid.

These little gels do the job. You must clean your toilet before applying. They will keep the bowl fresh and clean for a about a week depending on usage at which time you clean your bowl and reapply. There are 4 people in my house so a week is what I get. Some have issues with the sent. I find the lemon and ocean fresh aren't as strong as the others. I have a sensitivity to strong odors and I don't have any issues with these. The lavender is too strong. I stick mine under the rim so it's not visible. Hope this helps.

This product really does not smell good at all. Nothing like you would think for the scent stated on the box. I would not buy this again. I am sending the remainder of my unopened boxes back to Amazon for a refund. I cannot say how it works, because I just put one in my toilet this morning. At this point I am giving it a one star.
