I do find that I disabled (via software provided) the right-side aux button, which is right in the way if I pick up the mouse. Very annoying. It kept activating the magnifier function by default, a slow cumbersome function that I never use that takes forever to quit. Yuck.
The comfort is decent, and unlike most "comfort" mousies, meeces, whatever, is symmetrical, so if you are left-handed, get this and suffer the other problems with a stiff upper lip. You can invert the buttons left-to-right.
The big problem with this is the RF technology. It's only 27MHz, so it picks up all sorts of interference. I can always tell if a cop or city worker has keyed down nearby. It also seems to have trouble when my phone is doing some stuff on the network within a couple feet (eh? I'm at my desk, of course it's nearby!!).
So, you have to change channels, which sometimes fixes it. Otherwise, the pointer skips, the scroll doesn't, and you can't click squat... nada.
I'm going to return this and upgrade to the newer "bluelight" version, which is operating in the bluetooth frequency band. Hopefully less trouble. Oh well, it was dirt cheap, but now I know why.
If you live outside of the city, I should be fair, this is probably a good, safe cheap purchase. It is a big, comfortable mouse, fits under the hand nicely, and I'm a big guy.
Probably best avoided if you live in the city or near a public service building that uses lots of 2-way.
Not a cheer, not a jeer. Great for the right person... and that's not me.
So there are your two ways to get this mouse to work smoothly. For my big hands these mice are great, to me all of the fuss is worth it. If it didn't take all this fuss I'd give it 5 stars, but for such a low cost I'll continue to use these, nothing I've tried fits my hands better.
Be careful before making your purchase. Amazon has not put 100% effort in describing this mouse. As usual, this Wireless mouse comes with a signal receiver too but that receiver in itself is an another Wired mouse. So, instead of getting rid of wires, you get more of it. Here is how I can explain it in better terms.
Generally, Wireless mouse comes with nano or Pen Drive like small receivers which are comfortable to carry. Most of the time you can just let them remain attached to the laptop which is actually convenient. But, the receiver of this mouse is of same size as an another mouse. Even the shape is same. Moreover, this receiver has a wire which is almost a meter long. All these issues in total makes this mouse-receiver set a highly uncomfortable one. It directly impacts your portability. As a student, every time I have to first disconnect the receiver and then create some extra space in my backpack to carry it. It is so annoying.
Adding to the misery, the installation disk sent with this mouse doesn't work on Windows 7. But your mouse will still work. The thing is you cannot customize its buttons (and this is one of the features why anyone will actually purchase it, at least I did). But luckily, after using it for 2 days somehow Windows Update downloaded the required installation software and then only I get to customize this mouse.
Talking about the "mouse" only, then yes it is definitely a good mouse. The grip is really good, its comfortable. It looks good too. The click and the roller is smooth.
So, before making a purchase please be conscious and do some extra search on internet just to get an idea of the "Extra Wired" mouse.
You should note that the receiver sits on your desk and is connected to the USB plug by a wire and NOT integrated into the USB plug itself, but since I use this with my desktop, I have no problem putting very small receiver on my desktop, especially for better reception. It's not for notebooks, though.
I LOVE the feel of it, very smooth, and I like the scroll wheel without the clicks, very slick. It's a full size mouse, which is what I wanted. Love being not attached by a cord especially at this price.
