Just what I was looking for

We had been draping towels over our dogs crate to give him some peace and quite, which worked alright but didn't look very pretty. This crate cover is really just what I needed. The cover fits nicely, it is very easy to put on, has Velcro closures on all four corners and looks very nice in the living room. I'm postitve it, or when, it needs to be cleaned it will be very easy to wash. Before I purchased this crate cover I did a lot of web searching for a cover that would do what I needed and didn't cost $60 or more. I did not feel that it was necessary to buy a cover that had all kinds of designs, at a premium price. Solid black got less than $14 was right up my ally. Ok I was new to having a dog when I got the crate and cover and thought this was a goods set up. Not so much. The cover fits the crate perfectly but if you have a chewer , he will pull at it and tear at it and it will tear easily. This isn’t the biggest problem! As my chocolate lab grew from 6 weeks to 5 months, so did his breath output inside the crate at night. He came out of the crate one evening when I was going to take him for a 3am walk (I work 3rd shift and family puts him away earlier)and he smelled like MILDEW!! Now I thought he just got into something and was just dirty. I gave him a bath and dried him the best I could. I washed his bedding as well.... but it never really went away. In the next couple of weeks he developed a red bump rash all over his body. We went to the vet and got antibiotics and she asked if he got wet and didn't dry off.. Then I did the math. THIS COVER DOES NOT BREATHE! and like tents you'd use for camping in the early 80s where you'd wake up in the morning with condensation on the inside... This cover creates a moisture sauna!! This breeds bacteria and then the skin infection started. Its good for short periods but you can't use it for nightly bedtime... again…IT DOESNT BREATHE! and if he spills his water bowl hanging inside it makes the moisture problem worse! I now just use a cotton sheet.. Be careful!!

Good, simple crate cover. Fit our crate perfectly. The sides Velcro together but it's not securely fastened to the crate itself. Puppy pulled the entire cover into his kennel while we were gone. Will use it on our other dog's kennel but do not recommend for blanket pullers/chewers!

Fits my frisco Crate

Fits my 42 inch Frisco crate well. It took us a while to get our pup used to it- we worked up on different naps to keep it closed. Now our pup sleeps and stays awake (before, the light would wake her up from naps), and really seems to enjoy it. We had tried a sheet, but our puppy would pull it off the crate, or even pull it in and chew on it. The material is high quality and she doesn't pull it into her crate (although she does occasionally try to pull it off the crate.)

Great Cover- Fits perfect for 42" MidWest Crate

This Black Dog crate cover measures 42L x 27.25W x 30H". We were worried about the width measurement but it easily fits the MidWest 42" dog crate which is described to be 28" wide.

Cover is black and washable. Has Velcro edging on tabs to keep end flaps up or down. We used two little clips (not included) on each side of door, at its base, to hold cover in place and to keep cover from flapping with gentle breeze/wind and overhead fan. Provides the pooch with privacy and darkness. Dog loves the cave like atmosphere.

Uh, where has this been my whole life? Our 2 year old Australian cattle dog chews on his blankets/stuffed animals. He has been kennel trained since we adopted him, we’ve always used a sheet to cover his kennel at night. He pulls it through, chews on it, it gets ripped off, etc. We expanded to a bigger kennel for Christmas and this is a god sent. Has Velcro for security when shutting the front flap, he has not been able to pull through his kennel at all and hasn’t chewed on it. Fits very snuggly.

I bought two of these. They're lightweight, and not completely solid, so they let in a little air and aren't totally dark inside. They are made in one complete piece, made to fit the crate, but the front and one of the side flaps are attached to each other with velcro, which allows them to be opened. I had bought a different brand previously, but these are much better. No surprise, they're made by MidWest...their crates are well-made and affordable too.

I've had this product for about six or seven months and it is still in the same shape as when I bought it. Originally this was not on my list to get for my pup when bringing him home but when he would go in there for a nap he wasn't to happy with any of the light so I used a blanket of his and covered the crate. Which he loved but he also wanted his blanket. Found this and it had been in the crate since and my pup will leave it alone. It's easy to clean and easy to fold up. Since my pup is nearing his first birthday his crate doesn't get much use unless he decides to sleep in there buy he will only do that with the crate cover on. Rudy approves this product very much.

This is one of the best purchases I have made. My older lab has been having a rough month with thunderstorms and fireworks, and we have tried everything—he wears a thunder shirt and has even taken meds. He tries to find a place to hide out but ends up running around frantically. I bought this to put over his crate, and this has become his favorite place. He now sleeps in it every night, which he hasn’t done in years. I had no idea an inexpensive crate cover could be so helpful, and it was very reasonably priced.

I purchased this and have been using it for just over 5 months. The fit is great and exactly as expected. The corners velcro and line up perfectly. This is the perfect cover to create a den feeling for your pup. My lab (now 7 1/2 months) has always loved her crate and I think this is, at least in part, due to the feeling this cover creates. We have a more decorative cover over top of this one, but the decorative cover doesn't block out the light. This cover is polyester and is not pretty, but also is not ugly. Just plain. It has been very durable for us. Our puppy has pulled it through the crate and chewed a few holes, but this is more from her being a persistent chewer rather than any deficiency in the product. We have purchased a variety of Midwest products (crate, mats, bowl for the crate, etc...) for our puppy and have been impressed with the quality of all of their products.
