I originally had planned to buy another table but it was out of stock. At the time of my purchase, this had no reviews. I decided to take a chance on this. I’m somewhat happy and somewhat disappointed.
Pros: This has lots of storage in a small profile. It has 3 table top surfaces (all built into one table top piece which isn’t obvious to me in the description) for a variety of play options. My kids love the train side, the plain side is helpful to have for snack time, and the brick building side does indeed fit name brand Lego and Duplo bricks. It’s a great size for two kids. It fits my 6 and 3 year olds well and I believe it would work well for kids 2-8 years. Once put together, it seems pretty sturdy. I think structurally it will hold up well.
Cons: HORRIBLE instructions. I’ve put together many “do it yourself” furniture pieces and this is one of the worst when it comes to the instructions. The instructions are hard to follow, the pictures aren’t helpful, NONE of the pieces are labeled, and as another reviewer stated, the instructions seem to defy gravity at times! I put this together by myself but I swear you need to morph into an octopus to put the chairs together. You need multiple hands for the chairs. Because of the lack of labeling of ANY piece, you just have to guess which piece is which. Which is most frustrating. Thankfully some of it was obvious to me but if you’re not well versed with putting things together this won’t be easy for you. Mine was also missing pieces! THANKFULLY they weren’t important pieces (it was missing the dividers that velcro into the large drawers) but still frustrating to not have parts that are supposed to be there. One of the chairs came chipped (see photo). Each piece was individually wrapped in a foam sheet and there was copious amounts of styrofoam in the box so how it was chipped is beyond me. I worry about how it will look in a few months if it can chip that easily in transport. The screws are totally exposed. They don’t give you any of those plastic covers to make it nicer looking. This isn’t the end of the world but would be a nice touch that probably wouldn’t cost them much.
Despite my long list of cons, overall I am happy with my purchase and would recommend this to a friend. It’s good quality for the price point and very helpful to have when you have kids/grandkids or a daycare.
UPDATE: One week of use and there are some minor scratches/chips in the paint. I’m not surprised but still a little disappointing. I contacted the company about the missing dividers. They overnighted the dividers VIA UPS. They didn’t just send the dividers, they sent new drawings too. I’m very happy with my customer service experience.
UPDATE: I have had this table for a little over a year now and it’s still in good condition. The only additional con I can come up with is the hardware on the chairs comes loose over time and needs to be tightened. About once every 6 weeks I have to tighten the screws. I would still recommend this table!
