WHAT was important to me and why you may like this cocoa

First, I wanted a cocoa that was NOT Dutch or alkali processed. Takes a lot of the good stuff cocoa is known for...out.

PROS:

NOT Dutch processed and ingredient is just...COCOA! YAY!

QUANTITY - I don't know if it was on sale or not, but got 8 ounces (which makes a lot of hot chocolate or additions to my smoothies) for two bucks and change.

COST - as I mentioned...I paid two bucks and change. HARD to beat for the quality and quantity.

TASTE - Creamy, natural cocoa taste

BLENDABILITY - for HOT COCOA, I add a little HOT water and stir to make more of a paste, then add rest of HOT water to blend. For smoothies, I just add a little at a time and blends well, giving smoothies more of a real chocolate taste. If you want cold chocolate milk, just add a little milk and again, really stir and make a paste so powder dissolves and add rest of cold milk.

ONE SMALL CON: Top doesn't really SNAP on. At least not one I got. It goes on, but not really tightly. I put it inside a big baggie (either put the container inside a big baggie or just dump it into baggie)

BOTTOMLINE: it's got it all for me, taste, quality, quantity and price. UNLESS something changes, THIS will be my cocoa from now on. Brought up on Hershey's, feel this is creamier and prefer the taste.

ADVANTAGES:
(1)Compared to the Hershey's 8oz unsweetened 100% cocoa powder, this Nestle's product opens much more easily and without as much spillage of powder.
(2)The Hershey's product requires 35°C or higher to dissolve immediately after stirring. The very economically priced, unsweetened 100% cocoa powder from India requires 45°C or higher to dissolve immediately after stirring. This Nestle's product requires only 30°C or higher to dissolve immediately after stirring.
(3)At present, this Nestle product is priced very low at only $2.55 each but probably, they will sneak the price higher after more people start buying it.

DISADVANTAGES:
(1)After eating the dry cocoa powder directly, the taste is slightly tangier, slightly more acidic, than the Hershey's product but it resolves itself to a somewhat better taste after staying in the mouth for 20 seconds or longer. The ORAC antioxidant score for this Nestle's product might be just as high as for the Hershey's product, I don't know.

CONCLUSION:
1960s through 1980s Nestle's song: "N-E-S-T-L-E-S.......Nestle's makes the very best.......chaw - klet"

I love unsweetened cocoa powder, and the price here is very reasonable (2.48 USD each at the time of this review). I use it year-round for smoothies, cocoa, and baking. It's just one of my pantry staples. Solid quality, good flavor, slightly bitter but closer to a rich milk chocolate than a dark chocolate, and keeps for a long time. Will buy again.

This stuff is every bit as good as the stuff in the brown can for a lot less money. Sorry, but I've always trusted the Swiss more than Americans when it comes to chocolate. Nestle gets it right. I rarely purchase cocoa powder, but I've been doing a lot of baking during COVID. I will never purchase brownie mix again. So easy to make with just a few ingredients!

I watch my weight, and occasionally desire chocolate. I add this powder to a bowl, and a bit almond milk, and a bit of sweetener, and use a fork to mix. A few spoons of this and I’m satisfied. You may use any milk, and sweetener. It is unsweetened. Not unhealthy, and quite cost effective. I suggest that add your liquid of choice slowly, and do it over the sink to prevent powder from your counter. I love it!

The flavor on the powder is delicious, The container is 8 ounces , but in reality you don't need huge quantities when baking. I have actually never seen this brand of cocoa, but at this price decided to give it a try. So glad I did. The Hershey brand I have been buying for over 4 decades is at least twice this price in the stores. I used it today and am totally happy with it. The taste is rich and it worked wonderful in my chocolate cake. This will be on my S&S for sure! Totally recommend.
