Exciting Series Adventure in New Worlds!

Love this series! Great story and acting and will be very disappointed if there's not a Season 2, 3... So tired of having great shows/series and they get cancelled! Amazon, the Directors & "rating panel" Must take into account viewers, like myself, that prefer to bypass weekly shows because of so many commercials & wait to binge watch the whole series! Shows/series should not be penalized for binge watchers, especially when the channels still make money! Please bring Season 2 on asap!

Worth seeing if you're interested in the English Restoration period

Oh my god, too many overlapping regional periods in history! My brain hurts! 😆

In all seriousness though, while this miniseries can be a bit confusing on first watch, I enjoyed it very much. The ending credits were very sad and made me tear up.

The acting was far more phenomenal than I went in expecting it to be. I will watch this again, I'm sure. I recommend it if you are interested in early American history and the English Restoration period.

3.5 Stars = Decent/Flawed but good/Worth seeing (B)

If you are a Jamie Dornan fan, you will enjoy him in a different roll. He is still handsome and will take your breathe away. This an adventurous series. He does a lot of running as usual, if you are familiar with other rolls he has taken on. I personally love to see him run, he says it takes the tension off. I say whatever you have to do, go ahead. The story line is very historical and you will enjoy it.

Worst show in years.

So bad it was very hard to sit through the entire episode. The acting is amateurish and the dialogue is horrible. The dialogue is filled with modern clichés. If you are going to make a historical drama then be true to the time in costume, speech, and the society and social interactions!. This one missed the mark, strongly!

Not much about America, mostly British history and that's what they should have called it

Wasn't very interesting and storyline hard to follow as it bounced around. Ending left you wondering what happened to the main characters.

Very well done. Excellent plot. It really showed what things were like in the 1680s in England and Massachusetts. The acting was superb.

Okay But Didn't Keep My Attention - A Bit Disjointed
Verified purchase
A bit brutal and violent. I'm not sure how I liked it portrayed being switched back and forth from scenes in England to America and vice versa during late 1600's. The story loses its continuity with the frequent flips while attempting to tell the history of those struggling against tyranny and the king keeping his throne. Mixed in with the tale are the native Americans losing their land and lives from the influx of Christian pilgrims who feel no remorse in killing for gain. Unfortunately, I did a lot of fast forward in the last two episodes, feeling bored with the story and the dull acting. I basically could not feel anything for the various characters and their plights. I'm sorry to say it will be an easy-to-forget series.
