I have a Honeywell filter system on my furnace, The filter size for this unit is 16" X 20" X 4", But i was not aware of the actual size of the product. which is very misleading. The actual size of this filter is 15-1/2" X 19-1/2" X 3-5/8". and is considerably smaller than the filter size needed for my unit. My system requires a filter that is 15-15/16" X 19-3/4" X 4-3/8". I looked at several different makes of filters and was surprised that even though they were listed as 16" X 20" X 4", the actual size varied by brand. The price is good for 2 filters, but not very good if the filter only does half the job.
I also learned that Home depot uses an entirely different rating for the filters then anyone else. Most brands use the MERV rating, but Home depot using the FPR rating system. So if you buy a filter from Amazon you will see the MERV rating, if you go to HD and buy the exact same filter you will see the FPR rating. Therefore a filter with a MERV of 8 does not equal a FPR of 8
The picture is the smaller filter that I had to return. With the lower profile and large gaps around the filter i figured a lot of air would pass through the system without being filtered.
