Solid wood, but the piece A I received was quite scratched and did not securely fasten to the piece D. It seemed as though the product had been previously returned by a customer and then resold. This was a birthday gift so I’m not pleased and would like a new piece A. Otherwise the other pieces seem to Fasten securely and are quite sturdy.

When I received the Novogratz turntable stand I was a bit dismayed to see the box had one of the corners caved in, presumably because someone dropped it. I was immediately concerned my turntable stand was damaged or destroyed during shipping. After opening the box I was somewhat relieved that only a corner of the back panel was broken (not even visible when assembled). Luckily, I could still assemble my stand and use it. Assembly was easy and straightforward. If you've ever put together anything from Ikea, you've already got the gist. The stand itself is pretty sturdy, not too heavy, and coordinates well with my decor. The drawer opens fairly easily, but it could stand to open a bit more smoothly. That being said, it perfectly fits the space. It holds plenty of LPs and 45s. I can store my wireless headphones in the drawer. All in all, the stand meets my needs. Unfortunately, getting a replacement back panel hasn't been very good. Customer service was friendly and attentive and they were very helpful in identifying the model and part number. I received a confirmation email indicating my new back panel had been ordered. However, after two weeks there was no additional communication, so naturally I was curious what had happened to my order. I called customer service to find out my replacement part is still in the warehouse! It hadn't been shipped yet; no indication when it would be shipped. Customer service did mention that it might take one to two weeks for it to get to me once it is shipped (whenever that will be). Luckily, it was only a corner of the back panel that was damaged, so it's not visible (and I get to use the stand). Ultimately, it's a decent stand that looks pretty good. Just pray yours doesn't arrive damaged because it likely won't get fixed in a timely manner.

One piece had a dowel broken off in a hole. Other pieces were obviously screwed and unscrewed. The directions for step one drawer runner is printed wrong on page 9. The drill holes don’t match with the screw spaces.
Luckily I called the company at that stage.
So no wonder why so many panels were returned. By the time you put the drawer in on page 17. The entire unit would need to be taken apart to fix it.
I ended up having to buy new cam bolts and cam locks & replacement pieces for the base. Where the the bolts were removed and there was no groves left for me attach.
After 2 trips to Home Depot and $20 in parts I was finally able to assemble.
The design was great and the wood was great but sadly the production of the product was rushed so much that there are so many extra drill holes. Then the repatched spots and obviously nicked and scratched areas that were just patched with a brown color that did not remotely match. To say this company cuts corners with quality is an understatement
